Inches vs Scale?

I'm not new to losing weight or battling the scale but just looking for info or words of encouragement. Weight has stalled for a week, granted after three weeks of complete dedication and commitment I didn't do as well this weekend. However, this was happening before the weekend! My smaller size pants fit better yesterday than they have in two years and I know I'm losing inches....but, that scale....it's not moving. Why does this happen???! I'm only doing cardio, not much strength training so I don't think it's muscle. Don't ask me to break up with the scale, I can ignore what it says but we have a love/hate relationship that I can't give up entirely, lol.

You could be retaining water.0

When did you last adjust your calories intake? Your metabolism will slow down as you're losing weight so this will need to be decreased, depending on what your current calorie intake is. If you need any more info then drop me a message0

You may still be gaining muscle even with only doing cardio. The scale is a tool - nothing more. Get the tape measure out and see how much smaller you're getting.0

I lost 6 lbs in like 3 or 4 weeks and then it stalled and reversed. The scale showed me gaining steadily up to 3 lbs but all the while, my clothes were getting looser and looser. I worked out consistently and my nutrition was in a deficit. Then all of a sudden (last week into this week), the scale started dropping.
I had to skip a day in the weight room last week and I noticed that I get more accurate numbers on the scale when I've been out of the gym for at least 2 days because my water retention is at its lowest point. It takes time but you have to learn YOUR normal. For me, I know I retain up to 2 lbs of water after a hard lifting session for about 2 days. As long as you stay in a deficit and continue to work out, it will show up on the scale. I'm sure my numbers will stall again in a week or two. Like you, I also dropped a dress size and I'm able to fit into a pair of jeans that I hadn't worn since BEFORE I got engaged 3 years ago!0 -

Thanks all. I definitley can't cut back any more calories, with exercise I'm netting around 1000 calories/day. I did break out the scale and measure my protein out for the week in case I'm overdoing the 4 ounces and it looks like I was by at least an ounce. I've also been eating cheese everday (an ounce) and may need to cut that out (I'm doing CI/CO with somewhere b/t 50-100 carbs/day so cheese is ok, but maybe not).
I will be good, I will be patient I will not focus on the number!0 -

Treadmill actually said more, I'm undermining it...I've used some calculators to try to determine what my burn is. Of course none can be entirely accurate but I did 45 mins at 4mph with a 10 incline.0

Assuming you hold on at that high of an incline, I would cut your 300 cal burn in half. You'd burn more at a lower incline where the machine isn't supporting you.0 -

Try walking at a 4-5 incline at the same speed without holding on... you may be surprised how hard it is to do! And how sore your butt may be.0 -

We all make mistakes with our workouts. Some is more serious than others. Some mistakes cause injuries.

It has only been a week. Be patient and keep to your calorie goal.
You will probably not lose every single week. You may just be retaining water.
If you don't lose anything for 3 or 4 weeks then I would suggest looking at the accuracy of your food diary entries and exercise burns.0 -
not losing weight for a week isn't a stall. Weight loss isn't linear...you don't lose exactly X Lbs per week. you will have weeks with bigger losses, weeks with smaller losses, weeks with no loss, and weeks with scale gains. you need to watch the trend over a longer period of time, not the week to week numbers.

i have the same issue every time i try and lose weight. the scale stays the same while my clothes get increasingly loose. eventually the scale catches up but it can be incredibly frustrating. hang in there.
