How can I accurately calculate calories burned?

Options
So, I like to work out at home with DVDs. I do aerobics- cardio mixing weights with bursts of cardio (like with Julian Michaels and The Firm) and also just plain cardio aerobics (Jane Fonda !). I also do pilates and yoga at home. How can I accurately calculate calories burned during these workouts? And how to properly enter them on MFP?
Thank you!

If your doing steady state cardio a heart rate monitor is the way to go for sure. Other then that it is all just guesstimating really.

You simply can't be accurate with that selection of exercise.
But you can be consistent and make adjustments on actual results over time.

    Heartrate monitor. The only way.

    Not for those activities.

There is no reliable way to assess those

    Heartrate monitor. The only way.

The only way to count heart beats .... not calories.

You can use a heart rate monitor for your cardio, and take it how you want to for the other things you included. Here's site where you can look at all the different choices if your interested in getting on.

dcrainmaker.com also has reviews on a lot of them if you're into that sort of thing.

It's really hard to accurately capture calories burned for weight lifting - honestly, I don't count the calories for that. Just a bonus.

For cardio, a HRM (heart rate monitor) can be very helpful/your best bet - I have the Polar FT7 and love it.

Find a similar equivalent in the MFP exercise list or guestimate. Heart Rate Monitor won't really work in my opinion.
