Kind of depends on how far over, but yes, it's okay to go a bit over.
Let's say you set MFP for a 1lb/week loss. This is a 500 calorie deficit per day. If you were over your calories by 200, then today's deficit is only 300, which in turn means your weight loss may go a little more slowly.

It is not illegal or immoral to exceed your calorie goal. It will reduce your potential weight loss though.0

Some people count their calories on a weekly schedule, that way you can go over on one day, and make up for it on another.0
