Today I picked up Jillian Michaels' Ripped in 30 DVD. I am excited to start the program. I'd love to do a challenge with others to complete the program. If anyone is interested we can track our progress here.
The workout comes with a meal plan which looks pretty good.

I get bored easily with work outs but this one only lasts a month and the work outs change each week. Long story short I was down to my goal weight and just working on toning in January. Then I started on the Depo Provera shot. It was a nightmare. I felt like I had no control over my eating. I gained 15 lbs in 3 months! So now I am working on getting that weight off and getting toned. I am going to blog along the way to keep myself motivated. I'm going to take a rest day then start this Friday. I'll post my before pics and measurements soon. If anyone wants to join and needs to get the DVD they sell it at Best Buy and you can download it online from her website.

Depo Provera is evil... I was on that many many moons ago, but still remember the bad effects... water retention, looking swollen, weight gain, mood swings...ugh a freakin nightmare. I am glad you recognized it early on. Good luck to you...it is a challenge to not get bored with any one work out, so mixing it up indoors, outdoors, gym, sports, outtings, etc...keeps you interested. Stay focused you goal is not far ahead!

I'm currently doing the JM Slimdown challenge which uses 3 of her other videos.
I'm also waiting for my copy of ripped in 30 in the mail... I paid the express & it was supposed to be here last Friday... But still nothing... :(

I would like to revamp the slimdown challenge to include ripped in 30 & 6-pack abs....

I'd love to join this challenge. I started Ripped this morning. I did 30DS, but didn't finish it. Unlike most people, I didn't see any results other than gaining weight and my shoulders/back looking more muscular. Never dropped a fraction of an inch. I finished Level 1 and Level 2, but didn't feel like the return was worth the investment. I only did 3 days of Level 3 and quit.

I like Ripped so far, so I'll take my measurements and pictures tonight. I hope this puts me in sight of my July mini-goal. I'm not going to make the mini I set for May, but I am determined to keep working.

I'll be doing Jillian in the morning and trying to get to the gym for my treadmill in the evenings and pilates on Saturdays. I like to eat, so I need to work out to have the calories, lol.

Just got mine yesterday! I'm starting tonight. I don't think I'm going to do it in 30 days straight, more on the days I don't go to the gym... as supplement to that, can I still play?!

I took my measurements and before pics today. I'm a little sad at how out of shape I've goten in just 3 months. But I am staying positive. Tomorrow is the first step toward being fit. My number one goal is to tone my stomach after that I just want to be toned over all.

    Measurements:
    Arms- 25"
    Bust- 31"
Waist (just above hip bone) 32"
Waist (just below belly button) 38"
    Hips 39"
    Thighs 25"

I'm posting pics on my blog

I made it through Day 2 of Level 1 today. I do Tank-Top Arms (30 minutes, upper body and aerobic) first. I like Ripped so much more than 30 DS, so far at least.

    Here are my measurements:

    Chest - 35.75
    Bust - 37
    Under Bust - 32
    Upper Abs - 31.5
    Waist - 32
    Lower Abs - 34
    Hips - 36
    R. Thigh - 21
    L. Thigh - 20.5
    R. Bicep - 12
    L. Bicep - 12.25

I don't have pics yet, but I'll try to get some when I start Level 2.

Good luck everyone. Let's get RIPPED!!!!

Just finished day 1! That was a good work out. My HRM said I burned about 350 calories. I went shopping and had trouble finding some of the food on the meal plan. I had to go to a Whole Foods store which was expensive! $150 for 3 grocery bags! But if it helps me get fit it's worth it.

I made the Curried Cous Cous with Chickpeas tonight. I thought it was really good. I left out the onions and in the future I'd cut down the amount of coconut milk to 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 cup.

Day 3 complete! Has anyone tried any of the meal plan? I have been finding that I need an extra snack. So breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, & dinner. On Tuesday I will be switching to twice a day work outs because I lead work out sessions for my co-workers Monday through Thursday. My mornings will be 30 minutes of cardio & 20 minutes of strength then I'll do Ripped in 30 in the evening. I am sure I will be tired and sore but I am hoping for results. I think I will add in 3 days of Jillian's 6 Week Sixpack. I like the core work.

What do you all think so far of the work outs?

Did day 4 yesterday and day 5 this morning. I barely had the energy this morning. I just wanted to lay on the floor and not move! I worked out in front of the mirrors at the gym. Not good for my confidence :>

Day 4 done! I took 2 days off, which I hate. Monday was out since I didn't get home from the wedding until early a.m. and HAD to sleep. Tuesday this old gal had to rest her knee. I could barely walk, so I knew better than to push too hard. The knee was mostly better today, thank goodness. My energy level wasn't as high as usual, so I didn't get quite the calorie burn I normally would, but still used 339 calories. I hope I'm back to 100% tomorrow. No more days off until I finish Level 1 at least! I don't know how I'll feel about Level 2 since I haven't taken a peek yet, but I love, love, love Level 1.

Day 5 - complete. Sort of. I did it all, but I wasn't feeling 100% today, so I didn't give it 100%. I noticed I burned about 50 fewer calories according to my HRM - darn that thing! I'll do better tomorrow.

Week 1 Day 5 was the hardest for me so far, too. I had lots of energy on Day 6 though!

I'm currently half way through Week 2, and I'm loving it so far. I've done the Shred a couple times, and while I definitely like this better, I'm not sure whether that's just because it's new.

I'm a little scared of what's to come in Weeks 3 and 4, too.

I'm scared of what's to come -she keeps warning (threatening  ). Knowing Jillian, it won't be easy!
  • Welcome to all the new people joining!

I finished week 1 today. I used yesterday as my rest day because I had zero energy. For those of you who said you burned less it may also be because your body is adapting. Today I burned 275 opposed to 350 on day one. I am so happy I finished week 1. I previewed week 2 and it looks interesting. I am going to be so sore since I started 2 a day work outs. Tomorrow morning I am running 3.6 miles then starting week 2 in the evening.
