Tipping the scale... my breaking point!

I joined MFP last year when i was just 10 pounds overweight. at that moment in my life i didnt take my health seriously and based on my food diary (i only lasted 3 days) the food i chose to eatdid not reflect someone who wanted to make a change. Fast forward to June 1, 2015. my daughter had graduated from elementary school a few days prior and i began to show the pictures taken to my friends and family who could not attend. I was horrified at how i looked. i literally looked like a blob. my arm were so big they hid half my daughters face. my face was so tight it looked like it hurt meto breath. I felt even worse. I had noticed that my ankles had began to swell and i would startle myself at night when sleeping because my throat would close and i would snore. I began to suffer skin rashes and developed new deep purple stretchmarks all over my legs that would make wearing shorts this summer near impossible. I thought about my eating habits and everything that i have been doing to my body over the last year. i had been drinking hard liquor daily. smoking cigarettes ( quit in may ). and eating anything i wanted in gigantic amounts because in my head i had to have it. My boyfriend made the comment that we both "live to eat instead of eating to live." and that we needed to change however niether one of us made that move.... until I saw those pictures!!! i knew it was time for a change. i scheduled a doctors visit were i got a complete workup. After seeing i had ballooned to over 200 pounds, i was hurt ( i have been under 160 my whole life) but thankfully no diabetes, no high blood pressure, no high cholesterol... so guess what no excuses i could loose weight and it was all me. my diet and exercise needed to change ASAP. so i got serious about MFP and what i choose to eat. i am becoming more physically active ( i try to do something at least 30 minutes a day). and i am trying to motivate and stay motivates by others. I even have my guy working out too! I know my journey will be long and thats ok because i am willing to work for it so i am no longer the woman in the pictures!! I want to know what inspired you to GET FIT? What was your BREAKING POINT? will you/ can you inspire others?

My breaking point was when my plus size jeans were too tight and my weight hit the 200 mark. Joining MFP has made a huge difference. A great tool to keep myself in check and now slowly, I'm losing the weight, getting healthier and feeling good about myself. My last physical showing that not only had my doctor noticed my weightloss, but my cholesterol levels had normalized as had my bloodpressure. Still a ways to go, but I'm motivated to keep moving towards my goal.
Best of luck to you on your journey!0 -

200lbs was my 'breaking' point too. I was 'fine' as long as I didn't go over 200. I've stomped all over 200lbs for the past few years. I should have had a lower 'breaking point' number. I have a genetic condition that all the extra weight just makes worse. Recently my right hip area has started to fail. Take a few steps and then imagine someone stabbing you with a knife and that is my life. I stepped on the scale again and was over 200. June 1st I weighed 211.9lbs. I've changed my eating habits and got back in the a pool. I weighed 200 lbs this morning. I put in a lot of time on MFP, not only logging what i eat but also giving positive comments to my friends and offering support on the forums. The only way to be successful is to be for life. This is my third time loosing weight. This time when I get down to 150lbs I'm going to stay there.0
