I have the Fitbit Charge and I love it! Sometimes the steps will be a little bit inaccurate from playing basketball or other things I like to do (Fitbit openly acknowledges this issue as compensating for extra movement), but it is a good tool that helps get me motivated to reach my goals for the day.
Hope this helps0 -
I have a similar device from another manufacturer.
- It doesn't tell me anything I didn't know already in terms of my background activity. If anything I'm slightly more active than I thought I was
- I get far more value from my GPS training watch to support my cycling and running
- The motivational aspect might be of interest if you're extrinsically motivated rather than intrinsically
- There are lots of things for which it's not appropriate to measure
Mine was heavily discounted, so whilst I'm not convinced it's been worth the money it's an interesting experiment. It provides a small part of the picture, but not much more than that.
I know many people who've used them for a month or so, then not bothered afterwards as the gadget appeal wears off.0 -
I LOVE mine. LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
It depends what you're going to use it for. If you're looking to improve your daily movement, looking to stop being lazy and sitting on your bum this is the thing to use. It's great for increasing your TDEE.
If you're looking for it just to track exercise remember it's step based, so exercise that's not won't be tracked well or at all.
There's several different versions and I'm using the Charge HR right now. While I love it (I had the Ultra before) I think for Christmas I'll be asking my family for the Surge because I want the GPS tracking ability.
Edit: Also there's a group here

I love my fitbit. It encourages me to get up and move. Right now, I'm just focusing on getting my goal steps in, but eventually, I'm going to challenge myself in other ways. I want that 100 000 step badge!0

Best money I ever spent. I've lost the weight & have maintained for a year thanks to MPF + Fitbit + Trendweight.
Buy a Fitbit at a store near you, keep the receipt, and return it if you don't like it.0 -
FitBit has a large group of users...tons of information here: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1290-fitbit-users
My cardio is step based....so my FitBit One does pretty well with calorie burns. I washed it ( ) and it still works! It's going to depend upon what your expectations are. If you have some very active days and some less active days, a FitBit will help you get a good setting for activity level.
I like being able to interface with MFP. Some of the lesser name activity trackers have had issues.0 -
I have only had mine for a week, but I already love it (Charge HR) and it has really motivated me a lot. I now find myself looking for stairs to climb, and parking further away from places so I can make my daily step goals.0

Totally! I never take mine off except for showers, bath and washing up as my first one didn't like being submerged in water. The community on Fitbit is great, daily or weekly challenges really get you going! Get one!0
