I looked up a formula type web site and found that I have been under calorie by at least 600 calories a day most days and some days maybe even over a thousand calories under what I need. Is it possible that being low in calories has put my body in starvation mode and reduced its ability to let go of the fat?

That is impossible. If you are truly at a deficit of 600 to 1,000 calories you would be losing over one pound per week. You are simply eating more than you realize.

    Starvation mode is a myth.

    Just to pull everything together...

Your exercise is 3+ hours of cardio/crossfit
    You have an active job
MFP only gives you around 2000 calories at slight active (how much weight loss a week is that supposed to give you?)
    You weigh and measure everything

Missing your current height / weight?

    Something seems off.

Regardless of whether or not you're losing fat or muscle, you'd still be losing on the scale if you were at an actual deficit (just not losing the stuff you necessarily want to lose). You wouldn't just be holding onto weight over a prolonged period of time.

    Advice is nicer ;)

but yes start weighing ALL your food
i see cup entrees serving sizes
you eat more calories than you think

dont really DON'T use cup spoons or serving sizes they can be way off and because you already eat near your maintenance level you wipe out your deficit very easily.

It worked before because you had more to lose. So a bigger deficit. But you seem to reached the point that your deficit is so small that you maintain ( so no deficit at all) or lose very slowly.

so now your inaccurate logging is sabotaging your deficit.

Wow just weighed apple and saw how many calories more by weight - almost twice as many- 70 cal as list one apple . By weight 128 cal for a 7 oz apple. Wow what a difference. I think that was eye opening. Will be weighing from now on and let you know my progress in a few weeks.

:) good and the fun is also visa versa it can be less too...aldo that doesn't happen that much :(
But good the more accurate you are the better you know your calorie intake...remember it will never be 100%
I always leave some room for error Not much, 100 or so under my maintenance level when i want to eat more on a certain day. But normally i eat around the allotted daily calories.

But i am happy you saw the light lol ;)
