Seaweed Snacks
So I bought a bunch of those little packages of dried seaweed snacks (Auntie Chun's and Gimme Organic) on sale the other day. I really like the Teriyake and Wasabi flavors so far.
I've been using them as a riceless "poor man's sushi" snack by spicing up a packet of chunk light tuna with herbs and onion and such, and then dropping 1/2 tsp on each little sheet and rolling it up. There are 20 seaweed sheets in a package, so it makes a pretty good pile of little rolls by the time I'm done. The whole batch comes in at 130 calories and 20g protein with minimal (2g) carbs and no sugars.
Much as I like them, I don't want to get burned out on them as a snack and I've still got several packages of them on the shelf.
For those of you who *do* like such things, does anyone have any other ideas for low cal fillings to use on the little seaweed bits instead of tuna?
Thanks!

I've been eating these all my life. I didn't realize that they're now getting a bit mainstream. Try it with strips of cucumber, carrots, and similar veggies with smoked salmon, crab, or even teriyaki chicken.0

Some folks like the full sized ones in lieu of a lettuce leaf instead of a bun with a hamburger.
I buy the big packs (not the individual serving packs) and cut it into little squares. Much cheaper that way.0 -
I have cut them in strips and used for toppings. I topped wasabi hummus and a California roll rice salad bowl.

Try hummus and veggies. This salad wrap is great too! I love the tahini dressing. glowkitchen.com/2012/07/nori-salad-wrap/0 -
I enjoy them plain, they're fun to eat, satisfying crunch. How about a cheese + nut/seed/dried fruit combo, maybe cottage cheese and sunflower seeds...or a dried apricot for sweetness. Never tried it, but I think I will!0

I've torn a few sheets to add to rice, or on top of my zuchini noodles. Right near the end of cooking.0
