if I'm tired of starting over on my fitness journey, why do I keep quitting? So frustrated. Started back walking today. We will see how long this lasts. 50 pounds to lose. Oh, and my name is fantasia.

Hi fantasia. It definitely can be a challenge to start over again. It sounds like you are on the right track walking. With proper diet and exercise that you'll be getting with your walks you'll be able to get those 50Lbs off.0

Thanks Eileen_S! A proper diet has never been easy for me. And I always seem to give up after 2 weeks of working out.0

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm tired of the starting/stopping. I've been walking and eating a lot more salads. I'm getting older and that doesn't make it easier. We CAN do it. Make it interesting for yourself and switch up your routine. That's what works for me. I'm going to start logging my food on here and my excercises. Carbs/Sugar is BAD. I need to keep track of that.0

I'm a "do the same thing day in and day out" kinda person. Maybe I need to change that and do something different every day. Thanks for the advise!0

If you are tired of starting over then why not do it properly including having a dufferent straegy and approach that ensures you can deal with the things that throw you off track. It makes no sense otherwise because you need to ask yourself why this time will be different?Insanity is doing the same thing in the same way & expecting a different outcome.
Id get bored of that as well. If you are going to do it then do it properly so your weight loss journey cna be effective. Learn what it is you have to do so you understand whats ibvolved and have a sound plan on how to put things into action. Weight loss then becomes straightforward.0 -
I used to be like you couple of weeks then get bored. Im a Gemini so i get bored fast .for me i decided not to just do weights and hit the gym that gets dull fast. Find something you enjoy. I opt for more classroom activities like zumba, yoga bootcamp been doing it since April dont get bored and the results are amazing. Youll find what u like and then youll be on the right track ☺0

999tigger, I use that quote all the time to give other people advise. Sounds like I need to take my own advise.0

999tigger is on the mark.
Maybe you are trying to make too many changes all at once.
Get your logging under control, buy food scales and use them....
In regards to your intake as well.....calorie deficit for weight loss and please resist the urge to go for the biggest loss per week as it may leave you feeling deprived.
Exercise for health and enjoyment - find an activity that is enjoyable,, repeatable and sustainable and go at it. Don't be afraid to try new things and mix it up. Strength training is wonderful.....so many benefits all around, I truly wish I had got into it straight away rather than just cardio.
Oh please beware of faddish diets that exclude food groups, demonize foods ie. Carbs and sugars are NOT the enemy, unless you have a medical condition that precludes certain macro's find a way to fit in your 'treats' and enjoy them.
Good luck0 -
