I've been wanting to get a Fitbit for a while but I don't know how accurate they are. How accurate do you guys feel your fitbit is?

I love mine. Not totally accurate but gives you a base to go on. Plus I have it connected to my phone and the computer and the computer is better than the phone. It keeps me going. I was ready to call it quit the other day, it was 8:30pm and I was ready to put my PJ's on but my phone dinged and said i only had 100 and some steps to make it to 10,000, it said your almost there don't quit. So I took the dog and went for a walk and it went off...I made it. That made me happy and i would have never done that without the fitbit. Added bonus, it's synched to fitness pal so as I walk I'm aloud extra calories and the dog is also getting in better shape

Hi! I have a flex. My mother got it for me for Christmas this past year. I do like it. I find it accurate for step tracking. You can also enter other activities on the fitbit app, and it is fairly accurate on the calorie burns with that as well, although I usually don't, unless I'm not wearing my fitbit at the time.
I like that I can sync it with mfp. I do think it is a good tool. But like with any tool, it is only as accurate as you make it. When I use my fitbit properly, with diet and exercise, I have lost consistently. When I don't use it, and don't follow my eating plan, I don't lose. With that being said, I do like it. And their customer service is excellent.

I have a fitbit one that I keep clipped on my bra. My husband keeps his in his pocket. We found them plenty accurate to get an idea of how much we are moving each day. Just be aware that they register certain kinds of movements as steps so if you have an activity that mimics that movement or eliminates it, you'll get more out fewer steps.
IE, I can get steps hula hooping. But my husband and I can dance tango for hours nonstop and get less than 100 steps.
For normal activity it is accurate.0 -
I lost the weight & have maintained for a year thanks to MFP + Fitbit.

Which kind did you get? I have the Charge HR, I wear it on my left wrist. I love the thing. My recommendation, if you have this one or the Charge, is to set it to dominant wrist and wear it on your non dominant one. This makes it less sensitive, I found that scratching my leg I would get counts, no longer.0
