Where to go from here

Hi-
Okay so I was googling tricks to get healthy, and eat better, and one tip that was suggested, was to log every morsel you eat for a week or so, which is what I've done, and I took the average amount of calories that I eat a day, which was over 2000, and I'm trying to cut back. The website I was on said to minus 500 calories from the average number of calories that is present, but I'm scared that I'll be hungry. Where should I go from here? Should I log all the food I eat for longer and figure out a more accurate average? I ate under my calorie goal today, and was hungry, but I ate a lot of food. Where am I going wrong?
How can I lose weight (at this point I have it set to 1.5 lbs/week), but still eat? I exercise pretty regularly, and I try to eat well.
Thanks I'm advance! :)

Eat the 1500 with wholesome foods, log your exercise and eat back about 50% of the 'earned' calories, and see how that goes for a while. See if you do better with more small meals a day or big ones. Figure out what makes you feel sated more: carbs, fat, or protein. It's a process. If you still end up hungry, try building down to 1500 + 50% exercise with 100 calorie increments a week. It'll be slow going but a deficit is a deficit. Good luck!

Keeping exercising and eating 1500 calories. Check back after 2 weeks.

    Scared you'll be hungry?

Try being hungry for a week. You'll find out that it doesn't kill you, right?

You might not even be hungry at a 500 deficit.

If you are hungry, up your calorie deficit a bit. I would suggest just 1 pound per week considering your goal weight. That would up your goal by 250 calories. You could always keep in mind that you have the 250 calories to play with so if you want to eat 1750, eat it but if you have a day when you're only hungry enough to eat 1500, that's still a sensible amount of food.

This is exactly what I was going to suggest. In addition, you can try reducing calories slowly. So rather than jump from 2000+ all the way to 1500, try eating 1900 or 1800. Then reduce again as you figure out an eating pattern that works for you. Small changes!

And exercise! MFP does not consider exercise when it gives your calorie goal. Many people on here exercise to increase their daily calories so that they're not as hungry. Just keep in mind that the MFP calories burned are grossly overestimated and only eat back about half. Best of luck
