Howdy all and Happy New Year!

Yesterday, I went to the gym and did elliptical and walk/jog. Today will have to be something at home as the gym is closed. Maybe a bike ride and a short walk. It's nice and sunny today, so I should take advantage of that. I keep waiting for it to get cold for more than a few days. Hasn't happened yet.

Well, I finally weighed. I'm up 4 lbs since October. Sigh. I don't think I'm going back to counting calories, but I need to eat less. I was ok with not losing as long as I wasn't gaining. So it's back to the fridge chart and cut way down on the desserts. I think I need my weights class too.

So here are more goals for the new year:
Lose 1 lb a month - by eating mindfully and eating less
Jog 1 mile - I had this one last year, but I think I can reach it this year
Try to equate food with how I feel after I eat it rather than during
Complete 63 mile bike ride in October - training rides in March (27 mile with hills) and April (50 miles).
Try to get yoga in 3x a week
Weights at least once a week

Have a great workout today!

Mary

Well after the whole scale incident last night, I'm trying to get my confidence and determination back. So I'm off to do Legs & Back and Abs. Time to prove to myself that I can follow through with SOMETHING!

    Happy new year all!

MM- so sorry about the news! (sorry for being slow too!)

This year I want to make it to my goal!

    Lose 5lbs a month
    Jog my 5k in 30mins
Stay active at least 3 days a week
Watch my intake and drink all my water!

I will do this! Already off to a good start today! By July I hope to be at my goal! I managed to maintain through December so I'm ready to go!

Note to self: I am not in my 20s anymore. Must not have new year's eve excesses.

My day has been spent sleeping, as I went too far with both food and alcohol last night. I'm hoping to get a light walk in later (to dinner and back), but other than that, I'm taking a day off for my body to recover. Ooof.

    My new year's goals are:

To work out five days a week (down from six) aiming for at least two yoga sessions, two weights sessions and three cardio sessions.

To start eating more mindfully on a consistent basis. I rely on eating in front of the TV as a coping mechanism when I'm stressed, and I need to quit it. To that, I'm restricting myself to fruits and veg only in front of the TV, as my other goal is to eat more fruits and veg.

To do a 5K at some point in the new year (I'm eyeing one in early April, and one in June as a fall back).

To get harder, not lighter, is my general fitness goal.

Take care, and happy new year!!:flowerforyou:

    Happy New Year, everybody!

I am not setting any big fitness goals for myself until I finish my degree. My little goals for now are still:
    - maintain my weight
    - cardio 3x/week
    - pushups 3x/week (I really want to get to 100 within a month or so!)
    - after-lunch walks at work as many days as possible
    - a 5K sometime this year (probably end of May)

Along the lines of maintaining my weight, I MAY start tracking my calories again. At the very least, I need to pay more attention to whether I am actually hungry when I decide to eat - I was really good about that for a while but the last month or so has been challenging me. I blame stress.

OK - probably no one will read this because it's so late, but that's OK. Have a great day tomorrow!

:drinker: whooo hooooo! 2008 is OVER! That was a rough one for us, so glad to see it go. Sorry I have been missing, but got to go home for Christmas and am waiting tables on the side so been pulling a lot of double duty and no computer time.

I broke 150 to start the new year and have an end goal of 120ish for this summer. So, for January- at least 30 min 6 days a week, under 145, move on with life (family is ready for a big change).

I need to go back and read up on what's happened in the past couple weeks. Until then, hugs!

  • I just had to tell you-we share the same name-Arianne. I've never known anyone else with my name so I was really suprised!
I'm just getting started on my weight loss and fitness quest. This seems like a great place to get help and support.
