edited November 2024 in Introduce Yourself
I have gained 50 pounds over the last two years. I started losing myself after I began having severe back problems several years ago, but after it progressively got worse I ended up needing to have surgery in 2014. The irony in that is that I had the surgery so that I could live an active healthy lifestyle and felt to young to be controlled by how my back was feeling on a particular day. A year prior to that I also became the primary care taker of my 4 amazing children. In the single parent juggling act, I seem to manage to get everything done except take care of myself.

Good luck. Just remember it took 2 years to gain the 50lbs.. Losing it can take equally as long. ;)

Well, first, let me congratulate you on being a great mother. These days, it is more important than ever. Even alone, your good spirit, and desire to improve yourself will have immeasurable effects on your children. End Rant. 50 pounds by November can be done, but not in a healthy way. You can do it, but are you prepared for the roller coaster of looking great in November, and feeling like crap for a full year later? If you are, I'll tell you. Been there, done that.

Your goal should be 1% of you bodyweight so you can get your body accustomed. Fast weight loss usually ends up in regain because the person went to the extreme to do it. Hence unless they are really disciplined (and that's about 5% of the people who do it) weight regain will usually happen.

Welcome and congrats on deciding to lose weight! It doesn't hurt to reach for the stars, but remember that every pound lost is a win. :)
