July Walking Challenge 2015

This is continued from previous Walking Challenges, but it’s nice when each month has its own thread.
*** Anyone can join in at any time. The more the merrier, let’s keep each other motivated****
Walking seems like the easiest way to start getting exercise, and even if you can't track distance (or don't want to), tracking time is good too...go for a 10 min walk after dinner, or up it to 30 minutes, you'll be amazed at the end of the month how much more exercise your getting in.
Check in everyday with how far you walked or how long, this is just to motivate us to get in at least some exercise every day, and keep an eye on each other.
I want to try to keep this mostly to walking or walking type exercising. Treadmills and elliptical are A-OK.
Hope to see some more faces in this challenge; we'll start tracking July 1st.

Hi, I'm a little late for the start of the challenge but would love to join in as I love my fitbit I've previously attempted to walk to Mordor (idea from nerdfitness and I got to Lothlorian before I stopped tracking lol).

I am on vacation with our boat right now and did get my 20,000 steps from Fit bit this week so I will start this week too.
I will start tomorrow.

I'm joining in, thanks for the thread. I'm horribly out of shape, but love walking/hiking - just haven't done it in a while. I'm in southern Arizona and it's HOT right now, so I just joined a gym with an indoor track I can walk. Yesterday I began a "30 day to 10,000" steps challenge and am using walking as my main form of exercise. Have a new Fitbit that I love. So today was day 2 for me and I did a 30 min. walk. It felt great! I'm looking forward to working my way up to 10,000 steps a day and hiking when the weather cools.0

I'd like to jump in too! I walk daily and @stm712015 I can relate to the heat of a walk as I live in Phoenix. Even when I walk at late night sometimes it's still in the 100's !Am thinking of getting a Fitbit so I can really start tracking my walks more accurately.0

I just got back from a week of sailing on our boat and I do have a sore foot right now, so walking maybe a little later this
week.

Set goals for running and biking, so why not walking! My goal for the remainder of July is to walk 25 miles!0

Got my FitBit yesterday and I'm off and walking! I try to walk 5 days a week. So far this week, I have only taken Thursday night off. Last night I walked for a little over and hour and logged about 4 miles. I've worked my way up to this over the past 42 days. Feel better already and I'll be glad when it's cooler (October for Phoenix) so I can walk a little earlier in the evening.0

This past week I have been trying to start walking/jogging/moving more every day. I have tried to do 1-2 miles each day, but yesterday was SO hot where I am outside. I almost let myself slide but then I decided to throw on shorts and hit my old treadmill in my basement- I thought I'll just walk, but I actually jogged for 30 min!! That's a big deal for me, since I felt like I had jello-legs after.
I'm glad there's a thread like this- makes me feel not so alone in this exercise routine I'm trying to stay with!0 -
