Who has tried Shakeology?

I joined a bootcamp few weeks back which actually is in the disguise of Herbalife cult. I am abit of a hypocrite enjoying the free workout with no intentions of buying overpriced shakes and vitamins. The coaches are just deceiving people who dont know any better. The real message they should be giving out is eat well and exercise but all I can hear is there is a shake for everything.
THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY0 -

So, why don't you just learn what you need to do to get the weight off and keep it off? (hint: it has to do with eating less calories)
Anyone who calls themselves a coach should be teaching this method. Not selling u a shake for breakfast and then a shake for lunch. I find the whole thing really annoying.0 -

The minions would not think about endorsing this crap.

$130 a bag? How long did the bag last?

It would be cheaper to find the ingredients that are helping with your moods and go to the health shop than this. It really sounds like overpriced multivitamins. All the multivitamins food and gym membership I could buy with 90 dollars
If you can find all the multivitamins and herbal supplements in Shakeology for cheaper, let me know. Trust me, I didn't buy it without doing all the research. I used to work in the vitamin department of a health food store. I know my stuff.

I am eating less calories and I can't eat any less without shutting down my metabolism. I don't think I will gain the weight back if I stop, but I FEEL BETTER drinking it. Read my food and exercise diary for the last 2 months, especially the last month. Then tell me what I can do to change things.

Just no. You don't "shut down" your metabolism. The only time it shuts down is when you die. And before you claim starvation mode (because I'm 99% sure that's where you are going with that statement) you should know that it doesn't exist.
Not trying to be rude, but you seem to believe in a lot of bro science/woo (since you stated on profile you believe in the blood type/genotype diets). Those have been debunked many times over.0 -
It was good, but I got it for free. I'd never pay that much to try it.0

I've read up on shakeology and the reviews are all negative. For a meal replacement drink it's very high in calories, sugar ect. It lacks alot of essential vitamins and minerals. And costs a ton of money for a bag of powder? I'd rather eat real food and have a heavier purse. Another scam on the market!!!! You can go to the supermarket and get the same kind of rubbish for a small amount of money!!!0
-
I tried it for a bit and it did curb my cravings (especially combining it with the Horizon chocolate milk) but it was way too expensive to keep up. Who has that kind of money??0

The nature made multivitamin blows shakeology out of the water in every category except vitamin A. And this was literally the first one I looked at. And the best part about the Naturemade prodcuts is they are verified by an outside organization (USP) that actually tests products to ensure the stated quantities are true. Shakeology isn't verified, let alone sold in a real market. And then you can add protein shake that you like, not one that taste that chalk and is inferior.

Tried it and spit it out. It was a free sample. And trust me, I've drank some of the most vile stuff for fitness over the years and this was in the middle of the pack.

Yeah telling someone the truth instead of feeding their delusion is hate.0 -

Here's a little more:
Beach Body DOESN'T manufacture Shakeology. It's manufactured and packaged by a 3rd party (like most supplement companies do). So this "natural" product goes through a processing plant (ironic right) to get raw material mixed into a "proprietary blend" that really doesn't give you any information on actual dosage of product. How do you know that you're getting the printed values on the label? You don't.
And raw material is bought as cheaply as possible, so a lot of it comes from China who don't regulate the purity of the material they export. The FDA has no regulation on supplements, so it's NOT UNCOMMON for raw material to have contaminants in it. So along with all those "great" vitamins and minerals, you could also be getting some trace undesired ingredients too.
With all the claims that it's natural and pure, why doesn't it have a stamp of CERTIFIED ORGANIC on it? Especially for the price?
Again not hate, but it's important that if one is going to spend more than usual for something, there should be information that shows why it's more expensive. In this case, it's not because of the product, but the marketing plan.

I dont know why you are upset and saying there is hate. You asked if there was a multivitamin that was better than shakeology. I provided that clearly. My message was no more or less. Just showed you the facts.
If you want to keep blowing $100 on a protein shake, no one will stop you. But the fact is, shakeology is inferior to other and much cheaper combinations. Good luck in your journey.

Consumer reports tested a bunch of protein powders (including Shakeology) a few years ago and found high levels of heavy metals (lead, arsenic etc.) And as a PP said, Shakeology is made by an unspecified third party with no exact amounts given for the ingredients in the 'proprietary blend' so there is no reason to think that the heavy metals in each batch don't change each time. Trader Joes sells a green powder for $10 with almost all the 'unique' ingredients found in Shakeology in but in specified amounts. You can also buy green powder on Amazon. It's not expensive so try that and a vitamin pill if you believe that it really makes you feel better.0

Uneeknitter wrote: »BTW...loved it so much and wanted to get it cheaper, so I signed up as a coach. Costs about $90 a bag for about a 30 day supply that way.
I'm guessing that she is calling it "hate" because criticisms of the product are bad for business. Isn't the "coach's" job to shill this crap?0 -
I have. It's a scam. There is no reason a bloating protein powder should cost $130 a bag. Spend your money elsewhere. I am sure your sister in law would love nothing more than to sell you the stuff because she is making money off it.
this!BUT if you insist on a protein powder try RAW brand on amazon it is just as healthy and only 40 for a month supply. its organic, plant based protein, gluten free, no preservatives added.etc.etc. Ive tried shakeology once and the cost wasn't worth it and I still only lost weight because I exercised and stayed within calories. I also had to add fruit and milk to mine to make it filling. not worth the cost in opinion.

I also switched a clean eating diet at the time, so I didn't trust it was the Shakeology. So after my trial packs ended, I just continued what I was doing with the clean eating. My skin turned sallow within 2 days, I started spotting after 4 and I became moodier, with less energy. When I was on it, I lost 4 lbs. It has been 2 weeks now and I barely lost 1 lb just from clean eating. It is very nutrient dense and has some ayurvedic herbs that help with balancing hormones, mood, energy levels, etc. I don't think it has a bad taste and I find it very versatile to use with fruity or chocolate and nuts. I just got my first bag today, so you can check in on me to see how it is doing for my continued weight loss and such because my diary is open to the public. What hormone did you have tested that was re-tested seven days later and was better?

Yeah, that's amazingly fast for endogenous hormone correction (I guess that's how you'd characterize that).
I wait 30 days after initiation of HRT to retest serum hormone levels, but maybe @Uneeknitter knows something I don't.

I slept at a Holiday Inn Express last week. That makes me about as qualified as working the vitamin isle of a health food store.0 -

(1) It's only natural you would love something you're making money off of. (2) a 4lb weight loss per week isn't sustainable anyway - you probably lost water weight. (3) one week isn't enough to tell you anything so your week off Shakeology isn't useful information.0 -

I am so sick of hearing about shakeology and21 day fix. I wouldn't be surprised if part of the so called hate is due. The overexposure. These beach body coaches are like freaking leaches and I especially loathe my "friends" who have decided to use our FB friendship as a means to relentlessly plug their product.
There is no reason that weight loss should cost that much money. I would feel like a fool wasting my money on any of that.0
