Has anyone found that consuming a lot of sugar free coffee syrup daily (or any other high source of sucralose) has wreaked havoc on their weight and ability to lose any? I know there have been studied in animals about its negative effect on insulin and blood sugar, just wondering what people see I terms of regulating weight. Thanks!

I drink at least a gallon of sucralose sweetened water every day. Usually closer to two gallons. I'm drinking a mix of orange-tangerine and lemonade right now. I've lost 112 pounds.0

I used it all the time for my iced coffees. I did not notice a negative affect on my weight.0

If this were true, sugar free syrups wouldn't be suggested to individuals with metabolic conditions such as diabetes, insulin resistance, and hypoglycemia.0 -

I have a distrust of any unnatural lab- concocted sweetener. I noticed whenever I drank a diet soda I got a headache soon after so I just don't use the stuff. My theory is it gives your body's capacity to turn on/off its sweet tooth a false sense of what calories = sweetness causing you to Have a stronger sweet tooth. But I have nothing to support my theory. Just the headaches.
So is stay away from the stuff and just eat sweets sparingly.
Sucks bc everything at Starbucks has like 40 grams of sugar.0 -

This...except that I drink Sucralose-sweetened tea every day and have lost 92 pounds.
I would like to get away from artificial sweeteners entirely, but I am not there yet.0 -

Good thing you're not a scientist.
OP, it won't halt your weight loss unless you have enough to go over your calories.0 -

Was it Nutri-Sweet/Aspartame-sweetened? An entirely different substance than Sucralose. Aspartame causes headaches in a lot of people and can be a migraine trigger.0 -

Not all "sugar-free" sweeteners are alike.
Aspartame, stevia, sucralose, and (gag) saccharin have zero calories and are essentially nutritionally inert and therefore have zero direct effect on blood sugar.
"Sugar alcohols" are different (e.g., maltitol, erythritol, sorbitol, etc.) - they actually *have* calories and while they're great for diabetics in that they tend to minimally impact blood sugar, they can add calories to your daily total.
[Edit] - Full disclosure, I use aspartame and stevia most days (usually sprinkle some on my cereal, or have them in sugar free popsicles or treats), most weeks I'll consume a sugar alcohol product or two. My loss rate has been phenomenally good, I've been losing 2 pounds a week for the last two months.0 -
Use it all the time and lost my almost 100 pounds in 9 months just fine.
