How is it possible to lose 3 lbs in 7 days just by drinking a shake, putting on a patch, and taking a pill?
My family has gotten into Thrive/Level supplements and patches and promises rapid weight loss. I don't know anything about company but was curious if others heard of this?
*I am not interested in joining but scratch my head when I have been working out/eating right for 6 months and if all along I could just pop a pill---how easy that would be...(sarcastic).

Pills are most likely dietetics which make you pee a lot, and then you lose water weight.
I can't say much for patches, but I assume they do the same.
Just drinking shakes, I'm positive that makes you lose water weight.0 -
No, you will not lose 3 lbs of fat in 7 days. You would need a 10,500 calorie deficit over that time, or 1500 cal/day.
You will lose water weight since the shakes will have you skipping higher calorie meals and you'd more than likely be in a deficit over that time, but that will come right back.
The patches/pills will do nothing.
IIRC it's also a MLM, so it is also more focused on getting more people plugged in to be distributors than actually producing a product.
It's a lot of snake oil, you'd be better off walking away and simply using MFP as designed. There's no short cuts.

Yes, it is an MLM scam, but one of the claims I've seen is an overall improvement in wellbeing. There is no scientific evidence to support that claim, but many placebos can improve mood or energy, and the more complicated the placebo, the more effective it is. The fact that there are so many steps to this program may make it more likely to help people (albeit via placebo).
Ted Kaptchuk has done some really great research on placebos that can be very helpful when evaluating some of the "wellness industry" claims.0 -
I have an aquaintance on FB selling it. I actually have hidden her from my feed because I find it so annoying. I did look at the Thrive website out of curiosity. I think there's garcinia cambogia in the patches.0

It's all a fad and scam and probably a pyramid scheme too. The initial weight loss is water, and anything else after that is created from a calorie deficit. Unfortunately, those who fall for weight loss scams believe it's the shake, patch, or pill causing the weight loss, not the calorie deficit itself. Pretty sad.0 -
^ sales pitch if there ever was one.0

That's actually not true. I've been on Thrive for almost a year. It's not actually a weight loss product anyway, so shame on anyone that is touting it as a weight loss product. It's a nutrition supplement that is meant to fill in nutritional gaps so that you have natural energy and the base foundation for health. Then in turn, you exercise more and take better care of yourself and that's what makes you lose weight. Thrive and Le-Vel don't support people calling their product a weight loss system.
You lose water weight whenever you do anything that causes your body to detox and Thrive causes an initial detox. Mine was gnarly. You put the weight back on if you're being lazy and don't do do anything to better your life or use what the product is doing for you. I should know...I did that.
I've personally committed back to the system and am using it to help me have enough energy to exercise, to jump start my metabolism in the morning, and to start off my day with the right protein and nutrients in my system. And that's exactly what it is for. So it's working great for me because I'm using it with the right expectations.
It's not for everybody. It's not for people for expect a magic bullet. It's not for people who are just going to eat 3,000 calories of crap on top of taking Thrive. And it's not for people who don't want to take it. I actually am a promoter now because enough of my friends saw the difference it has made for me and for my life that they wanted to get on board because of me. But I'm always willing to tell people the truth.
I just get really tired of promoters out there who cause people to hate or distrust this product or the company because they claim that it is something that it is not. And btw, I totally report those people to the company because they are giving all promoters and the company a bad reputation.
Anyway, I just wanted you to know that it is not a scam, it doesn't just work for a few days, and it's not the weight loss wonder that people claim it is.
I'm sorry you've encountered people who either used it wrong, had the wrong expectations, or who lied about what it is for. Good luck with your fitness journey!
It's snake oil. And you had to take it again. Why? Because this stuff didn't teach how to eat Correctly to maintain your weight.0 -

Please name one toxin this product removed from your body. Just one will be sufficient.0 -

Just in case you want to know what the Mayo Clinic thinks of detox diets: http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/nutrition-and-healthy-eating/expert-answers/detox-diets/faq-20058040
here is another article from the Guardian debunking the detox myth and superfoods and nutrients: http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2014/dec/05/detox-myth-health-diet-science-ignorance
Eat food that you cook, eat food that you prepare, eat a balanced diet in moderation, avoid over processed food, enjoy fruit and vegetables and you don't have to join a MLM group.1 -
@amyoliver85 ... please name the toxins that the product you hype actually removes from the body. Please explain how it provides your metabolism with a "jump start" in the morning.0

Is like to know what supplement will make me move. Is it like Genie from Aladdin and he pokes you with a stick periodically? Because I'd be down for that.1
