What does your hunger feel like?

Since I've been logging my calories I've become more attuned to my hunger signals (since I'm not eating as much and they get a chance to work). Often they're similar, an empty stomach feeling, but every now and then they'll throw me a curve. E.g., today I needed a snack (a rarity for me; I like big meals) and felt a mild weakness in my legs and arms, but my stomach felt fine and full enough. I tried drinking some water, then had a half peanut butter sandwich/cup of milk and felt better. Maybe it's a diabetic (type 2) thing, or maybe everyone's hunger signals vary. Just curious.
Since it's close to lunchtime on the East Coast, I was curious how your hunger signals feel today. Feel free to reply in gifs or text.

Mine are nausea and rage, and headache.0

Huh, interesting. I've not experienced those symptoms. Wonder if that'll change as I lose weight.

I doubt it, I'm sure it's some kind of blood sugar thing although my fasting levels test just fine. I've always been that way - my family used to call me Dr. Jekyll because they said they could never tell when my evil side would come out, then finally they realized it was whenever I was hungry. I don't get growly stomach type of signs very often. Usually feeling nauseated is my first sign that I need to eat. Trying to kill someone is the second And if I miss a meal, I'll get a killer headache.0 -
@sofaking6 Ha ha, gotcha. I get sleepy I'd I miss a meal but have never had a hunger headache. So many varieties of human!0

depends on how hungry I am- time of day and what I'm doing- but this is typically what it's like:
930 AM- I"m going to puke
1 PM- JESUSCHRISTWHYHAVEN"TIEATENYETIHATEALLOFYOU
<oh look food!!!>
3:30 PM- FAK- I can't eat this early- I'll be dead at 7 PM.
4:00ish... FINALLY FOOD.
405- DAMNNITI"MSTILLHUNGRY
<goes to gym>
7 PM- at the studio- I NEED A SNACK!!!!
dance- get glassy eyed and tired- dance some more- then go home
11 PM- OMG EGGS_ I"M GOING TO DIE IF I DON'T EAT.

My hunger is mistaken for gas by coworkers. My stomach growls sound like the nastiest farts. It's weird.0

Starts with a little gurgling or clenching in my stomach, then a while later I start to get light-headed and unable to focus. If I wait even longer than that, I get this horrible ache in my throat that is really hard to describe.0

Mine starts off with a dry mouth, then I feel a headache, then lack of concentration. Hydrating I have found helps. If your desperate eat fruit. It generally brings up the blood sugars right away0

stomach growling and feeling like its eating itself and cramping0

Dry mouth, stomach cramps, being cold. And pee smells funny.0

My stomach feels like a yawning black pit from which not even sunlight can escape. Also, I feel desperate and frantic like I've lost something important and have no idea where to find it, finally cranky and rageful with a pinch of melancholy. It's really quite fun to be with me when hunger strikes...

Stomach growling and extra saliva.
When my blood glucose is low I get tired weak, shaky and cranky. That would happen about 2 hours after eating for me (with mild reactive hypoglycelia and prediabetes). Low blood sugar can happen without being hungry.0 -

My husband always asks me if I'm really mad or if I'm just hangry...0

Headache, lightheaded/dizziness, growling stomach/stomach pains, weakness, extreme crabbiness, difficulty concentrating.0

Cramping/gnawing under the breastbone. Weak and shaky. My blood sugar crashes fast if I don't eat when I'm hungry. I'm prediabetic. So I break up meals into many little snacks, as recommended by the doctor.0

I get the shakes.0
-
Angry, agitated, headache, stomachache0

I always think it's crazy how urgent hunger can feel, despite knowing that you're going to eat at some point later. The same with cravings for a particular food... it feels so urgent, despite the fact you'll probably eat it thousands more times in your life.0

Mild hunger is actually a pleasant feeling for me. My stomach feels... err... "light and airy"? I guess? Not gaseous, but it doesn't hurt and it isn't cramping. It just feels lighter and "smaller". I find I focus easier in this state and it's easy to stay on top of things mentally. I prefer this feeling to being full and will eat slowly because of that.
Actual "I need food" hunger is pretty much hangry for me. I get easily irritable and short with people and feel a sort of tingling in my upper shoulders and neck. It makes me feel like I'm raising my hackles or something. However, it's not an uncontrollable feeling and it usually passes after about 20 minutes with water.
I found fasting really helped me figure out what hungry was like and get back to terms with being mildly hungry as a normal state.0 -

Did it help with the hangry? Mine just gets worse and worse until I punch myself in the face.0 -

The fasting? No, I had to power through the hangry, ha ha! But after those 20 minutes and enough water, it's okay. It comes and goes after that every few hours, though. The only time it doesn't is when I'm playing a video game - then I'm engrossed in playing and can go through most of the day without eating if I have water nearby.
Then rage-quit-hangry happens and I devour a half carton of eggs in the most glorious breakfast-for-dinner omelette ever.0 -
Hell- oh look chocolate!
Must have all the carbs!0 -

Exactly. Then when it gets past this point the stomach feels more gnawing, then I start to feel shaky, weak, and unable to concentrate. I try not to get past this point, because from here it goes pretty quickly into tunnel vision (feeling like I'm going to black out) and unable to make any decisions, even feeling unable to acquire food to eat. I get very confused and helpless. Interestingly, I don't get irritable or "hangry," just like a lost little mouse.
When I've been consistently overeating, I can't stand the way hunger feels. If I'm eating less (like now), it's way more tolerable (after a few weeks of adjustment, of course). I actually do prefer being slightly hungry throughout the day, but it's also mildly uncomfortable (just a different uncomfortable than being overly full all day).0 -
It's nagging. My stomach hurts and I get frustrated (when I'm on a deficit), angry. Very unpleasant, and it happens about every 3 hours.0

I am the Incredible Hulk when it comes to hunger. "I'm always hungry."0
