Treadmill calorie counter

I do a lot of treadmill walking and usually use that for my calorie counter. I am able to input my weight(usually go 5# less than actual wt), and then go from there. I am curious to know if anyone has any insight how accurate they are and can I rely on that as a guide. Thanks.

In my findings, its not that accurate. The treadmill I use, tends to estimate about 100 calories for every 10 min of exercise.. maybe a little bit more. I used it as a calorie counter since January, and lost 18 pounds that way. If you don't eat back your exercise calories you should be ok... if you do, I'd exercise a bit of caution. The only way to be really sure, is to get an HRM.0

I was wondering the same thing...what I do is that when I do the treadmill then i dont eat my exercise calories back (I almost never do anyways) just in case is not accurate...0

Thanks guys...I never eat back all the calories I expend, but was just curious as to how much I can eat back if I really had to.0
