NIGHT SHIFT FOOD

As part of my job I sometimes work night shifts (7.30-8am) I really struggle with these, with knowing that to eat, and how to stay awake and keep my energy levels up.
I used to eat junk, which made me feel sick. How i'm looking for suggestions healthy(ISH!!) foods? I dont drink coffee, and i dislike fizzy drinks, so caffeine drinks are out!
Please can people give me suggestions of food that will boost my energy and keep me going? I've got use of a microwave, and a fridge. I have an hours official break where I can eat, and usually snack on foods in between, but those snacks would need to be something I could leave/come back to
Thank you

Ugh. That's the worst. I always failed at night shift. It seemed no matter how many healthy foods I brought lol. I suggest lots of coffee.0

Bring fruit, and other high fiber snacks like protein bars and carrot sticks. Yeah, it's rabbit food, but it requires no refrigeration, and the carbs will give you energy. As for a beverage, it sounds like you are already drinking your water, and since you don't drink beverages with caffeine maybe cranberry juice or just more water. The carbs in your food and drink will supply the energy needed to get through the night. Hope this helps.0

I would want fiber with some oil: steel cut oatmeal made a head of time with some nuts or bacon, chic peas, yogurt/ricotta, or cottage cheese with nuts or sunflower seeds, hard boiled eggs with raw cut up veggies, . . .0

I feel your pain. I currently work the night shift as well 11pm-7am. To gain some energy to push through the night I sip on MIO Energy drink mix. As far as snacks go, I love frozen grapes, Apples & peanut butter.0

I've been working the night shift nearly two years now. You need a big lunch box and tupperware and Blue Ice.
Sandwiches - low fat/low salt lunch meat on whole wheat, peanut butter (measured out) and jelly, etc.
A portion of beans and rice that you can heat up in the microwave
Chicken and rice
Low fat granola
Yogurt
A portion of pasta (if you eat it) and sauce
A weighed out portion of chips (if you eat them)
jello (reg or sugar free)
packets of low sugar oatmeal that you can heat up with water in the microwave
Apple
Watermelon
Grapes
Small salad (perhaps with cold, leftover chicken. Yummy!)
Basically, your normal food in correct portions. Instead of eating all or most of your food the day of your night shift, eat only a small breakfast or snack, sleep, and then get most of your calories at work. It is very doable, but it takes some planning and discipline.0
