I am in the process of setting up a workout schedule and routines for the week to get more organized with it so I can get the most out of it instead of flying by the seat of my pants. Anyone have and good ideas or suggestions for me on the best way to do that. I want to include strength training, cardio and flexibility routines in my weekly regiment. Any help would be appreciated as I am a rookie to all of this. Thanks.

for your strength training I would definitely recommend taking a look at "New Rules of Lifting for Life"...the whole New Rules series is really pretty good, but NRoL4L is targeted towards middle aged beginners who also may or may not have certain physical limitations...so it'll give you alternatives to various lifts if you have a physical limitation preventing said lift.

I'd do that 3x weekly...2x minimum with some cardio on your off days. Maybe throw in a day of yoga or something...make sure you're taking proper rest days. Start slow and build up your fitness.

There are so many ways to do this, really depending on your goals. I'm ADD when it comes to working out but I still need to have a goal. Right now I'm training for a 1/2 marathon in September. This gets the cardio out of the way. I'm following the John Stanton program so right now I'm at 31km/week, with the long run on the weekend. Last winter I did 2 rounds of P90X3 which are only 30 minute workouts so I do that a few mornings a week. I also play roller derby and practice is twice a week for 2 hours. To round it off I hit the gym twice a week to do some full body strength training.
Get yourself a calendar work in the activities that you like to do and build from there.
See what is available in your area too. Sometimes if you get connected with a running or cross-fit group, it will open all sorts of opportunities that you can plan into your routine :)
