Today I hit a milestone according to MFP so my phone APP asked if I wanted to recalculate the numbers according to my new weight...I hit yes and it cut my calorie intake by about 200 so it's now down to 1400 (something like that).
Doesn't that sound like very little calories?
Did you recalculate yours when you hit that milestone?
Also, since I now work out 5-6 times per week should I change my "sendetary" lifestyle to something else like "active" or whatever one of their other choices are?
I'm thinking about manually changing mine back up to what it was before. I'd appreciate your thoughts.
Thank you!

I changed mine after I hit 20 lbs lost. The way I have my goals set now, I'm at 1240 calories per day and if I eat wholesome & filling foods, I'm never hungry. You could manually set it for 100 calories lower and try that out for a week. Also, you can change the amount of weight per week that you want to lose and that will increase/decrease your calorie goal.
Oh, I'm 5'5" and 236 lbs if that helps.0 -
No most people are on about 1200 NET calories until maintenance which is 1500 for most!0

I am at 1200 calories. I would LOVE 1400 allowed.0

I think 1400 is on the low side for your weight. I know that lots of people are on 1200 cals/day but I just don't think it's necessary to go so low to lose weight.
You might like to go back to your goals and set it to lose 1 pound a week and it will most likely give you higher calories.
(I eat about 1500 net cals/day and I'm losing about a kg - 2.2 pounds- every 10 days). For me, anything less than about 1400 leaves me hungry and grumpy - this is unsustainable, and for me, unneccessary.
And regarding your workouts - if you are logging your exercise you can leave your activity level at sedentary (unless your job or daily activities excluding exercise have changed). Or change to active lifestyle and don't log the workouts - you don't want to count them twice.0 -

Why don't you change your weight loss goal per week, and you probably can eat 1400 or more and still steadily lose weight? It might take a month or two longer, but could be more acheivable.
I'm of the opinion that MFP lends itself very well to being a tool for lifestyle change rather than making you punish yourself with unsustainably low calorie intake.0 -
Thanks so much...I will manually up my calories allowed close to what it was. My weight loss goals are already set to 1 lb per week so I'll see what I can tweek. Thanks!0

I agree. I was on the brink of losing my mind at 1200 cals. I have now set my weight lost goal at 1 pound a week and I find it much more manageable that way...0
