when you go grocery shopping what are your must buy healthy items....aside from fruits and veggies

    I always get:

    cottage cheese (2%- used to do fat free but I need more healthy fat)
    plain yogurt
    sandwhich slims (bread not that healthy, but these 100 calorie buns come in whole grain and are pretty tasty)
    Tuna
    individual packets of frozen fish such as pollock or swaii
    nuts (different kinds, almonds, cashews, etc.)

    granola
    100 cal snacks
    almonds
    Fish: Tilapia and Salmon and Shrimp

    There is more on my must have list but I can't remember them all...

    My cart is loaded from the produce section, but in addition I typically purchase fresh seafood, chobani yogurt, cereal (Kashi Go Lean or Special K) and skim or 1% milk.

    7 grain bread (only has 7 carbs ;))

    flaxseed oil
    soy milk
    oatmeal ...like non flavored, regular ole oatmeal :-p

    Egg Beaters - great for protein, low in calories and carbs, no fat
    Yogurt - Dannon Fat Free (DELICIOUS! if your craving a dessert type of food)
    100 Calorie snack packs (Sunchips, Cheetos BAKED, fruit snacks, granola)
    Sea Salt Almonds
    Smart Taste Pasta
    Campbell's Select Harvest Soups (Great for those nights when you dont have time to cook. Also come in containers that are microwavable for work)

  • My grocery list contains of the following:
    Mung beans,
    Adzuki beans,
    Yogurt with probiotics,
    Chocolate Soy milk (Full circle) (I make smoothies with it (yummy),
    Organic vegetable broth (I make alot of soup!),
    Kelp,
    Anutra.
    I make alot of salads and and so most of my grocery lists contain fruits and veggies,
    I make my own bread, so I go through alot of wheat germ, and wheat flour, and besides
    tons of 100% fruit juice....that sums it up!

    cottage cheese, fat free cheese, milk, and 2 different kinds of yogurt.
    I personally like Dannon Light n' fit 50-60 calorie containers and Chobani greek yogurt.
    I also have been buying propel zero packets. When I get bored with water they help me drink water instead of pop.

    greek yogurt; usually Fage (love this stuff and it has 23g of protein!)
    Low fat cottage cheese
    low fat string cheese (Sargentos makes some really good low fat string cheese only 50 calories a stick...very yummy)
    roasted edamame (awesome source of fiber and protein)
    Pumpkin seeds (awesome source of protein)
    skim milk
    Kashi go lean cereal
    frozen blueberries (to add into the yogurt)
    Chicken breasts
    pork chops
    eggs
    Pam olive oil spray and cooking spray
    anf fat free fudge pops for a treat (only 60 calroies and they taste yummy) better then the sugar free! :)

    Rice cakes, skimmed milk, low fat cheese. Also get alot of dried fruits, my favourite atm in cinnamon dusted cranberries. Delish.
  • Greek yogurt, raw nuts, cottage cheese, lara bars, hummus, Lots of fruit and veggies, cage free eggs, Almond milk, coconut milk, wild caught fish,( grass feed beef, pork,and bison), free range chicken, 80% or better dark chocolate, Amy organic soups, Gluten free bread and, quinoa, raw honey, Steel cut oats, green tea, beans and legumes, and granola. Granted that is pretty much my shopping list plus a few "cheat" items.
