Hi there :)

I am a newbie on MyFitnesspal and I downloaded the app because I need to lose 44 pounds to reach my goal. So that is a lot of weight.

I want to know how this app works and if it is effective.
I also want to know how much weight you may lose in a week keep it off for ever.

I am 5'5' and I weight 165 pounds.

If somebody wants to be my weight loss buddy, tell me :)

I am ready for this weight loss journey!

Xxx Sarah

You log your food, be accurate (use a food scale), you lose weight. It's that simple. With 44 pounds to lose, you'll probably start off with 2 pounds a week, then it will taper off to 1.5, then 1 and finally a half pound a week. You will only keep it off forever if you are conscientious and continue on with a lifestyle change that is CICO.

44 pounds is completely doable! I have lost almost 40 since January and my start weight was the same as yours :) Good luck!

The app works by YOU inputting your data, tracking your food and exercise. I'm not sure by what you mean if it is effective. It's effective in helping you track your food and exercise. I think you may need to do a bit more research on losing weight, keeping it off, etc.

Fat loss is really all about what YOU do, not this app. This app is just a tool for you to log, keep track of what and how much you're eating.
