Hey! I am currently dieting and my plan is to carry on with 1300 calories for a few months and then when I get to my ideal weight, 72 kg ( current weight- 98 kg) I want to fix my metabolism. I am 6 feet tall and my calorie intake should be about 22-2500 calories. I have heard that a good way is to start increasing 150-200 calories in your diet every 2 weeks.

Some high deficits will reduce metabolic rate to a crawl. If done long enough, as soon as you increase calories, there could EASILY be a significant weight regain.
Do it right. Reduce the weight with a decent fitness program and moderate calorie deficit. Then your metabolism won't need any fixing at all.

18 year old 6 foot male - are you kidding me?
Why would your calorie target be so low? The nutritional minimum for men is 1500-1600
Use this http://www.weightloss-calculator.net
Eat more...I think you'd be well-advised to consume 2000 calories minimum
Move more
Hit the gym, lift heavy to preserve your muscle
The thermodynamic adaptation of low calories is painstaking to reverse ...you don't want to go there0 -
Why on EARTH would an 18 year old male be eating 1300 calories?0

Just how do you think that eating below the minimum for a male is going to somehow "fix" your metabolism?0

When we're talking about say 1300 calories a day does it matter if this is net ? I regularly net under that but consume physically over 2000.0

For nutritional purposes probably not
To preserve as much LBM as possible and hit decent protein and fat macros..yes I do believe it does matter
However ...your calorie burn estimate may be overestimated, depends how you're measuring/logging it really0 -
being 49 and a women really sucks,i'm suppose o eat 1200 a day,well i eat any where from 700 - 950 i workout every day, i've been doing this for 3 weeks and i haven't lost 1 gram ....WHATS WRONG???0

Honestly, you're much much better off eating more and having the weight come off more slowly. Speaking from experience, eating so little is a recipe for disaster. Please just at least think about it.0

He wants to eat that low until he meets his goal and then fix his metabolism.

You would probably be better off asking your question on a thread that you start. It keeps the thread focused on the original OPs concerns and make conversation less confusing. If you start your own thread I am sure that you will get plenty of help.

OP you are correct just " reverse diet" back to maintenance calories when you reach desired BF %. Add 100-150 calories back every 1-2 weeks and watch your body.
Do not listen to the old wives tales of metabolic damage, that is false.
The bodies metabolism adapts according to the energy it is being given. Your metabolism will slow but no research ever has shown more than 15% reduction.0
