Question about Sugar Used in Brine

I used the search function and couldn't find a discussion to address this question, so I apologize in advance if it's redundant.

I brine my boneless skinless chicken breasts with kosher salt, sugar and garlic powder. They don't end up tasting sweet, but still - I'm very strictly monitoring my calories, so I'm curious if anyone has opinions on how, or if, the sugar should be calculated.

Perhaps I'm being ridiculous, I'm really not even sure how much of it soaks into the chicken, or if it can indeed be calculated, but I'm curious.

Thanks!

Weigh the brine before you add the chicken, once marinated take out the chicken and weigh the remaining brine. Should give you a good idea, not exact tho.

That's awesome - thank you!! I'm not looking for exact, just an idea, so this is perfect. Thanks again for your quick reply. Best wishes to you!!
