Does anybody else feel like this??

Wondering if I'm alone in feeling like this. I weighed myself today. I have lost 6 lbs since starting MFP. I should be proud. Any weight loss is great. But I don't FEEL skinnier. My clothes still fit the same. :grumble:
I'm getting so impatient. I want the results now!! LOL.
I am kinda depressed about my body. I don't have any clothes that fit me. I need to go get some but we have NO money for it right now. So I'll keep wearing the clothes that are too tight and make me look all lumpy.
It's such a slow process..
I've fallen off the wagon this week too. Haven't been eating the best and have slacked on my workouts. Gonna hit it hard today.

I feel like this too. I've lost 15 and at 5' 3" I thought it would make a difference. It hasn't. I'm still squeezing into the same old clothes, I look no different at all. I wasn't expecting a miracle, but at this point, especially at my height you'd think something would have shifted.
I'm seriously considering resetting my ticker and ignoring my weight loss so far. It must have been water weight.0 -
Dieting does not offer instant gratification. DAMMIT (stomp stomp)!!! I have always found that what you do today will not show for two weeks..
Also, though its always a good start, I personally don't count the initial weight loss (larger water weight drop) right away. Only when you start adding to those pounds slowly weeks later does it start to show on your body.

Yeah, I definitely know it's a slow process, especially for someone as large as me. I had a false sense of hope that I'd see at least tiny progress.
I will go ahead and nullify my weight loss now.0 -
It was close to 20 lbs before I could see a difference. I was getting so frustrated because I felt like I should be seeing results. Funnily enough it wasn't until the middle of my month long plateau that I got into a smaller pair of pants.0

Weight loss is usually so gradual it's hard to notice the difference until it's dramatic. That's why it's important to take pictures and measurements (lots of them) along the way to be able to see your progress.
Also you have to consider that we take off and put on weight in different ways and while you may judge how overweight you are by a certain part of your body, it may take a while for that part to go down. My thighs got significantly skinnier before I noticed a big change in my belly -- which is what I wanted to lose all along in the first place.

Oh, it WILL happen... trust me. I was feeling just like you after losing the first 10 pounds or so, and then one Monday morning I was getting dressed for work, and *nothing* fit. Seriously -- I had to scramble around looking for a belt to keep my pants up!

I'm down 32.2 lbs and I'm still wearing the same jeans as before I started, I just look at is a good thing, I won't have to buy as many clothes on my way down to my goal as I thought I would!
Keep on treking and one day you'll wake up and feel like a new person, we look in the mirror everyday so we don't see it. Just wait until you've lost a good bit and see a picture of the new you, that's when it will hit!0 -
I know what you mean! I have only lost 13lbs since the middle of March and you would think being a "large gal" it would come off faster with what I am doing...not so much! Very frustrating but you have to realize it did'nt come on over nite so it is going to gradually come off!! The turtle won the race...remember? Hang in there......0

I feel the same way but I'm looking forward to the next couple months to finally give myself enough time to see the results instead of quitting which I have 2398432 times in the past. I was too impatient to actually see the results in the past and that's why I threw in the towel...
My biggest life lesson in this journey is patience!! And some days are DEFINITELY better than others...

All of you have made awesome, significant progress!!! Please don't discount that. Keep going, it will pay off. Before you know it, someone will ask if you have lost weight because others can see it.0

The initial weight loss is almost always water weight.... and unfortunately, it doesn't do much for how your clothes feel. The trick is you have to keep making the effort. Eventually it will start showing.
I tried so many things that just didn't work, then my karate instructors got me reading The Rosedale Diet by Ron Rosedale.... I lost 50lbs with this lifestyle change with next to no exercise because I had hurt my knee again and had to sit out for awhile. Its about earing to avoid excess sugar...

i know what you mean. i've had eating disorders in the past and it's obvious i have body dysmorphic disorder because i've lost 15 pounds and i still look the same as when i started in my eyes! but i choose to believe my loved ones when they tell me i look better because i trust them. haha xx0

I understand your frustration. It will come though. I fluctuate so easily depending on water and sodium, it's maddening how easy 5 pounds can be put on. I have put on weight over the past year and I've been running more than ever. I couldn't figure it out until I signed on here last week. I now know that I was eating too much, thinking I could because of the runnning. Well, I wasn't running that much. Now I have to practice patience and realize what took a year to put on, won't come off immediately.
Your profile says you just had your baby in January.....When I was pregnant, I gained weight all over, not just in my belly, so when I started to lose it, I lost it everywhere but my belly first. Once you get a few more weeks in, you'll see your clothes losen up.
Keep the faith and keep moving. It will happen!!0 -
My favorite saying, "slow and steady wins the race". This is a process. Believe me, I was impatient too in the beginning, but you want the weight to come off slowly therefore you keep it off. When you see people with a larger loss, it is because they have been at it for months. Like me, I have lost 42 lbs, but it has taken me 8 months to get here. Keep eating clean and exercising, it will come off. You want like 1 to 2 lbs off a week, somtimes 3 is ok. You don't want huge amounts off because it is easy to gain back that way.
I know it gets discouraging, but 6 lbs is great. Keep doing what you are doing. The clothes will come in time. If you can't afford a "new" wardrobe, try a second-hand store or goodwill. I have lost 3 to 4 sizes, and I buy second-hand when I need a new size. I don't have money for new clothes all the time. Just a few suggestions from what I have done. Keep it up!! You are doing a great job so far.0 -
It's important to remember that you are making lifestyle changes, not just dieting. In doing so, you will not see instant gratification, but the weight will continue to come of gradually and you will notice changes in how your clothes fit and how you feel. Be patient and continue working hard at it. We all have bad days (I just had a bad four-day weekend) but you need to jump right back on the wagon and keep going. Positive thoughts... positive thoughts. You can do it!!0

That happened to me too. It was 4 or 5 months before I really noticed it. Eventually I started to notice that my pants barely stayed up!0
