Sorry to thread-jack, but thinking about Pizza reminded me of some recipes I have seen for pizza bases made out of cauliflower, to be gluten-free/paleo etc. Has anyone tried them? I know it won't be the same, but is it at least nice?

I've tried a gluten free pizza but the crust was rice based. It wasn't too bad, better than what I expected. It's definitely not the same as a traditional pizza crust. I haven't tried the cauliflower crust yet.

I usually log based on how it looks to be made. If it's a puffier crust I would count it as about 2 slices of white bread (240 calories), plus about 75 calories of mozzarella, I don't bother with veggies especially if they are just sprinkled on, but meat I will count as well for about 75 calories. So a slice of pizza with puffy crust the size of two of my hands put together will be about 450 calories if there's meat. I also eat pizza from this one place that does not use tomato sauce, instead they use truffle oil, so I figure about 1 TBsp per slice so about 100 calories there extra, but they make it on a thin crust so I figure it's about the amount of one slice of white bread. That's how I estimate.

I should just make my own pizza, my mom has a great recipe that I use. Make a bunch and freeze it!

Actually, this is a good idea. Make it how you want it and forget the guesswork (and the extra expense of going out).

All food establishments should be required to have their nutritional info available to customers...

I think we have a right to know what the hell we're eating!
Only eat at places that do, then.

The inconvenience of traveling out of my bounds just for a pizza isn't even worth it LOL

I rarely eat pizza so I think I'm just going to log in as 350 or 400 and try not to obsess about it.
I think that's generally the best approach.
