Hello pals!
My primary prescribed me Phentermine yesterday and I'm excited to see what it does for me. If you've been on it, can you share your experience with me?
Thank you

Mine tried that with me a couple of times. Both times I started with a half dose because it's essentially amphetamine. Went to the full dose after a couple weeks and the initial effects lessened. I felt jittery, excitable, and hyperaware. I struggled to sleep . Felt like I had a large rock in my stomach. I definitely ate less. Lost 20lbs in a month. It all came back with extra as soon as I stopped taking it.
My doctor has changed her philosophy and no longer prescribes it. She encourages exercise and modified diet instead.0 -

OP, is that you on your profile pic? If so, your doctor should be reported to the medical board....Phen is an amphetamine, and should only be prescribed to morbidlh obese people where the risk of being overweight is a lot bigger than the medication's.....0
-
I lost 50+ lbs on it. I loved it at the time... not so much when I gained it all back when I stopped taking it.
It's not a long term solution, so why even bother?0 -
I'm sorry but if that is you in your profile photo you shouldn't be taking this medication and your doctor should be reported.

I took it, lost 10 gained 30...Its not a miracle drug, it doesn't teach you how to eat right or get your body/mind right. If you eat a bunch of crap these pills wont make you loose 50lbs sitting on your @$$. Your better off doing it the old fashioned way, diet and exercise0

Yeah...That's what I was going to ask.0 -

Her photos suggest that it is - which is worrying.0 -
It may work for some, but it's not a long-term solution imho. Change your habits if you want to lose the weight and keep it off...0

Hi concerned pals! (Regarding my profile picture) that was from my first transformation 3 years ago. I've since had another baby and my metabolism has slowed quit a bit so this time around I haven't been able to do it like I did last time. I am technically obese. Weighing 185 and I'm 5'2. Hope this clears that up!0

I don't think this even qualifies for people to be less concerned.0 -

You do realize you don't have to quote everyone with the same comment right? If we have the thread bookmarked we will receive a notification that there was a new post.0

Then maybe put a updated photo then, might help.
I still say no to pills, it doesn't teach you anything and the side effects don't sound good to me. My 2 cents.0 -
Just needed experiences of people who have been on it. Not to determine whether you all thought I needed it or not. That's between my doctor and I0

Side effects: http://www.drugs.com/sfx/phentermine-side-effects.html
It's up to you to decide if it's worth it or not. There is no magic pill. While on this, you still need to learn portion control or all the weight that you lost while on the pill will be regained.0 -

Nope! Didn't know that. I just started back using the app since my last transformation and then I never used it. Thanks for the info!0 -

I don't understand your comment. Sorry.0 -
Took it like five years ago, gained everything back.
Pills are no substitute for education and better habits.0 -

Thank you!
I have done this all before. Losing approx. 60 pounds 3 years ago. I am aware of how to do it and I started it again but with little to no luck. This is why my doctor prescribed me this to kick start and then I'm hoping I can continue and maintain again.0 -
I still say no to the pills. I was on them and life was great, I lost 60 pounds but I didn't change the way I thought about food or have any steady level of activity. When the pills stopped the weight came back plus some.
I changed how I thought about food, increased my activity level and now the weight stays off. There is no magic pill. Eat less and move more.
Good luck.0
