I stopped eating sugar in March. I eat fruit, dates, raisins and dried fruit with no added sugar. I do not eat dairy, or bread and pastas. If you have any recipes to share I would appreciate it. TIA.

I pretty much eat the same as you. What type of recipes (breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert)? Do you like spicy food?

Im pretty sure I would die. I enjoy the foods too much so I just put them in moderation, Good luck though!

Look up category you want to eat, select 'last week' and 'most favourite' then pick a recipe.

That's what I do, though I don't avoid added sugar, because that's just silly. I avoid soy, (most) nuts, dairy, eggs, gluten, and a few other things due to food sensitivities that make me very sick.

So you cannot have any dish with any veggie, eggs, etc as all contain sugar

Is there a particular reason for the dietary restrictions? I just ask because understanding that may help with further assisting you in recipe hunts, etc... It sounds like a very restrictive diet, but I do enjoy myself a variety of foods, too, so I'm a bad judge.

You can't say "I stopped eating sugar" and then, in the very next sentence, say you eat fruit. You can say, "I don't eat foods with ADDED sugars," but you certainly do eat sugar.

If you stopped eating foods with added sugars, dairy, bread, and pasta as a weight loss effort, it's completely unnecessary. Most of us lost weight eating all of those things. It's calories in vs. calories out. If you eat 5000 calories worth of bread and pasta, you'll gain the same amount of weight as you would if you ate 5000 calories worth of vegetables.

If it's for digestion issues, I'll keep my mouth shut because I know nothing of that.

As for recipes and meal ideas, try paleo recipe sites.

    Look up anything paleo.
Yep, sounds like you are pretty much doing some form of a paleo diet. I don't personally agree with all the restrictions but hey, to each his own. There are a lot of great paleo recipe websites out there.

From what I hear bacon is king with paleo. Maybe bacon wrapped fruit, dates, melon and steak.

Is it Paleo if you wrap sugar cubes in bacon?

I guess I might as well shoot myself right now because, aside from the sugar, I can't eat any of that stuff.

I quit eating these foods because I suffer from Fibromyalgia. Its caused by inflammation and these foods make it worse. So I am motivated to not eat them. Not even in moderation. I have lost 30 pounds since

I don't eat a lot of gluten, and tend to drink almond / coconut milk as I prefer the taste (I still have yogurts and chocolate though so I've not cut out dairy completely). I've got the following books / websites which are fab:

    - www.madeleineshaw.com (she has a book also which you can get on Amazon called Get the Glow which I would recommend)
    - The Detox Kitchen Bible
    - Hemsley & Hemsley

All give good ideas along the gluten / dairy free diet.

I tend to find something that is a good replacement - e.g. with pasta I replace it with "chickpea fusilli" which is made with just chickpeas and water - I buy it online (I'm in the UK). It's half the calories of pasta, lower carb, higher protein and really tasty. I actually prefer it now to proper pasta.

I only reduce my gluten as I find I get bloated if I have a lot and also the replacements are lower calories so allow me bigger portions within my daily calorie goal :) bonus!

    Hope that helps!

I also had have fibromyalgia, and cut out wheat, sugar, dairy and FODMAPS about 5 weeks ago. Since then, I have more energy, my inflamation and skin problems are greatly reuduced and I am more active. I have reduced my weight by 7.5kg and no longer craving or snacking between meals. My pain symptoms have not alterered but I feel a lot more motivated and positive each day seeing my acheivements on MFP. I am also sleeping all night for the first time in years. I found a lot of good recipies searching for FODMAP friendly food websites and apps, and in Sue Shepherd's books.

Have a look at deliciouslyella.com. Lots of wheat, dairy, refined sugar (and pretty much everything) free recipes. ;-) There's a bit of a hype and commercial vibe developing around her blog lately, but if you can ignore that there's some interesting ideas for meals. Not a huge fan of the "pastry" recipes as the brownies for example don't taste anything like a real brownie, but the hearty recipes (e.g. butternut squash curry) and snacks (such as energy bites) are nice.

I also have removed refined sugar from my diet since I was told I had type II diabetes. No sugar, low carb... I do occasionally have sugar free whole grain wheat bread but I also eat lots of fruits (berries, pears etc.) and veggies with protein. Carbmaster yogurt works for me also. Adding refined sugars, such as a tablespoon on your grape nuts cereal is much different than eating half a fresh pear or apple!!! I now take NO diabetic medication and have lost over 60 lbs.
