7/3 - 4 miles
7/4 - 7 miles, visiting in-laws, partial "trail run" through road construction
7/5 - rest day
7/6 - 3.1 miles; planned for 5 but got completely washed out by huge rain
7/7 - seem to have got a summer cold...slept in, no run
7/8 - getting worse...ugh! May be a sinus infection. Nothing worse than being sick in the summer!
7/9 - still sick...blah.
7/10 - heading out of town for a baseball tournament...still have a cold.
7/11 - FINALLY! 3.5 miles on hotel treadmill (22.6 for month)
7/12 - more baseball...son's team won 9 year-old state championship! Woo hoo!
7/13 - 4 miles at 5:00 a.m., 81° and humid...air you can wear (26.6 for the month so far). Will catch up with everyone's weekend later today.
7/14 - 5 miles, still pretty hot, but not as humid as yesterday. Because of all the missed days from illness, adjusting my goal down to 100.
7/15 - 4.1 miles
7/16 - rest day; had to take oldest son in for his well child check.
7/17 - 4.1 miles. STICKY! How can it be 81° at 5:30 a.m.?

To all those looking to join in August...Welcome!
To all who have exceeded, met or are about to meet their goals, Congrats!! To those who may not reach their planned goal for the month, it happens to everyone and there is always another month.
@68myra - Sorry to hear about the injury this month. Welcome back and will see you in the August thread!
@shanaber - That is such a great experience with your daughter! My son hates running (I bought him a 0.0 sticker). Maybe someday he will want to run with me. That would be great!
@Wendy1Fl - Great to hear you are getting back to your regular running self!
@mwyvr - I would love to be like Joe when I grow up. I run a lot now, but I am not as good as Joe about diet and regularly doing strength workouts and stretches. That part I still need to work on. Thanks for letting me know about the Hoka ogre snacks. That definitely explains what happened to those shoes. There is no reason a quality shoe like that should fall apart after 9 miles. Unless of course an ogre nibbled on them. I'll have to check for tooth marks.
@Ohhim - I had a similar issue with my mileage as I reached the halfway mark well ahead of schedule. I think I can still hit my goal, but I will need to log a few more miles than planned in the next two days. The big question is if I will stick to the plan, or go for the goal!
@7lenny7 - Hope that achilles is OK. Congrats on hitting your goal!
@shanaber - I'm not used to the afternoon heat either. Both of my last two runs were in the afternoon and my pace on both was pretty low. The effort felt right on though. I read somewhere about how training in the heat can actually be good for you. I hope so. Otherwise...what the heck am I doing???
@kristinegift - I hear running in excessive heat can be good for you. I think whoever said that was just crazy. But that's what I keep reminding myself when running in the stupidly high heat.

7/2 - 4.6 miles while eating lots of breakfast gnats yuck!

7/5 - rest day and travel to El Paso ugh what a trip
7/6 - 2.5 horrible dreadmill miles
7/7 - 4.2 miles and 2.25 - went and ran where my boss told me. It was beautiful. It was like 90 and no shade during the run and my breathing is taking a beating, but it was worth to 30 min drive to get there.

7/10 rest day

Hot and sticky 5k today. Doesn't look like I'll quite make my goal this month. It was a lofty goal, considering my previous high month was 83 miles. But I will get 100 next month!!!0

31 minutes today. I am so glad that I met my goal this month without irritating my tibia too much. I am going to take it easy again in August and hopefully by September I can start ramping up my mileage agin.0

By the way, I notice my best improvements in September on that first cool day. ;-)

Great work everyone this month. It looks like I may actually meet my goal this month, coming close since I am building back my miles coming off glute and hamstring problems the last couple of months.0 -
I am just starting up today. My goal will be 25 km per week - 15.5 miles (minimum).
I use a treadmill for now. Sometimes with a bit of an incline.
Currently run/walking. Found a running interval trainer I really like by Runtastic. I will check out the ticker in the future.
Cheers all.0 -

Okay, I'm coming to this super late in the game, but at the end of this week, I will have run 6 miles. I'm a beginner, training for a 5K on September 20th. I will be run/walking it with the hope of a 16 minute mile. Once that goal is reached, I'll be working on whittling down my time for a Thanksgiving day 5K to support a local food shelter. And I still have to find a race for January...0
