I can run!

So I started working out with a trainer back in January. On January 4th, it took me over 19 minutes to run a single mile. I've been plugging away, and had been dealing with some pretty severe pain in my feet. During a trip to the podiatrist at the beginning of March, I finally got an answer to my foot issues. Added some 'blocking' to my shoe inserts, and the pain went away immediately. That night, I ran my first sub-15 minute mile.
Since then, I've kept going. I've lost nearly 30 pounds, and tonight, for the first time in my life, I RAN FIVE MILES without stopping. Those are sub-13 minute miles - and I did that with a 5% grade!
I may just be a runner yet!

What a great story. Thank goodness for specialists who can just tweak one thing and magically we're able to continue trying to achieve our goals.
5 miles continuous is awesome. Keep it up.
And congrats on the 30 pounds!!! That is a huge accomplishment in such a short time.

You ARE a runner now!
I understand what a great feeling it is to be able to run - I started C25K in January and am now training for a 12k race in August, which just seems like it should be impossible, but I'm determined to give it my best shot!
Thanks for making me smile today!0 -

Thanks everyone! I was pretty happy with myself.:blushing:
For those of you that said you hate running - don't think that I'm overly in love with it either! :brokenheart:
I have just learned that the ends justify the means. I am dropping weight faster and becoming more 'taught' since I started really running. I do it in moderation, and watch Netflix while doing it so I don't get bored...0
