a lightweight, breathable, mid-sleeve (elbow length) compression shirt anywhere? I need one for hiking because the batwings are getting irritated by the pack straps. Long sleeves are too hot for summer hiking, and cap and short sleeves just cut off circulation and allow the rubbing to happen.

Any suggestions?

Cut off the long sleeves at the elbow? That way there won't be an elastic or other tight band at the bottom to irritate you/cut off circulation.

Can you find a long sleeve one that has a very very lightweight, wicking, breathing material? I have a shirt from lululemon that is long sleeve but quite light that I have found works well for me when I've been out exercising. Unfortunately, it was pricey, but I do like it.

I'd suggest giving a rashguard (swim shirt) a try, the short sleeved ones typically have fitted sleeves to the elbow.

Thanks, everyone! I did in fact consider a rashguard, but I haven't found any locally that are a lightweight enough material yet.
