There's a TV series starting tonight called "The truth about calories". The write up states why counting calories is pointless...
Has anyone seen it? It's on pretty late, not sure if it's worth staying up for lol

I'm in Australia. It's channel 9 at 8:40pm.
From the adds I've seen it looks like a bunch of scientists in Lab conditions.

I'd say anyone on here who has lost weight by counting calories will find this show to be particularly worthless, lol0

I wonder if it is being shown in the states? I just want to see what they say... Counting calories has been working for me so far, so I'm confused about why what I'm doing, makes them feel it's pointless.0

I cringed, hard, when I saw the promos for that. Definitely not going to watch.0

Haven't watched it but it is on at 8.48 pm here.
Don't you have anyway of recording it?
Probably can find it on youtube, though you aren't probably missing much.
It was on BBC tv back in April.0 -

I think I saw the preview. Was this the lab crew?

I would probably only watch it if it was on t.v. I have no patience for watching TV online, unless it's Dr. Who. So I guess I won't be watching, hahaha0

As a biochemistry student, that sounds like a really boring series to me if taken strictly at face value.
I'm just picturing some guy saying it takes one calorie to raise the temperature of one g/mL of water by one degree Celsius. Over and over. Maybe demonstrating how to make a calorimeter out of a styrofoam cup for good measure.0 -
Oh bloody hell. "A morning of light housework consumed just as many calories as one involving a strenuous workout, the show reveals".

For some reason, that link didn't come through right, hac125. I think it's missing a 1:

Nah I don't have a dvr. I'll watch it ., I'm sure it'll be easy to tell early on what the point is...
I don't think it's an Aussie production. It's probably been shown in America or Britain before.0 -

D'oh. Too slow. Sorry for the double posting, too.... I meant to write this post as an edit to the last one and hit quote instead. I'm apparently having a bad five minutes. lol

There's a BBC documentary entitled "The Truth About Calories New BBC Documentary 2015". It's available to view on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsxyMFTK0Ac). Maybe it's the same show.0

Is the answer "making the portion smaller."?0 -
Whoops, a 1 went missing somehow.

Glancing over the article I don't see too much that is out of line. They don't seem to dispute CICO they are just saying if you eat calorie dense food you are going to be hungry and probably eat more than your allotted calorie limit.
They are saying you don't need to count calories but at the same time saying you do.0 -
