Hi, I'm new to myfitnesspal.com, but I've been using the App on and off for a few months.

My starting weight last summer was 175, then I lost about 10 pounds without going to the gym over the next few months. I didn't lose or gain any over the holidays. I plateaued at 165 until last month, when I started a gym membership & went on the South Beach diet. Now I weigh 155! I'm so excited to be dropping again, hopefully I can continue to lose 1-2 lbs a week, and I'd like to maintain my weight in the 125-135 range. I hope to get there by the end of this year.

I'd like to get some friends on here so we can keep each other on track and motivated. I'm 28, a mother, and I'm also now a student again. During the summer staying on a diet is easier for me, but during the school year I'm always so busy I sometimes forget to plan ahead which is when I fall off my diet.

  • Hi there...I am new to myfitnesspal and will need all the help I can get to stay motivated and on track. I need to loose 40 pounds and would like to loose at least half that by August. Anybody that can help keep me on track will be my BFF. I weighed 89 pounds when I got married at 23 and now weigh 150 at 54. I am only 5' so 150 is way to much for me. I am trying to get down to at least 115-120.

I have attempted going to the gym and using my WII Fit, but each time resulted in injury...two shoulder surgeries and a broken foot. After each injury and subsequent recovery it has taken almost a year between to attempt working out again. I am just recovering from my latest shoulder surgery and am ready to get rid of this excess weight.
  • I need some inspiration this morning. I am on a 1200 calory diet and actually usually end up consuming less than that on average. I have been going to the gym 5 days per week and doing heavy gardening on the weekends as well as monitoring my diet since June 1st and have not lost any weight. I am started to get frustrated and need some help.
