If it helps you, I guess it's worth it, but you can do it yourself cheaper.

I really don't like the Beachbody people. Liars and scammers. I wouldn't give them my money.

I know a personal trainer who swears by it, but she already teaches (and participates) in about three classes a day. She would lose weight if she ate nothing but ice cream every day.

Don't trust anything that promises to "fix" you in X amount of days.

I was lent the 21 Day Fix by a friend and, for me, the nutrition/container portion of it was a waste because I think it's easier to use MFP. I love the workouts and I think Autumn is great.. it helps me to stay motivated and workout at home whenever I want.

Putting food into expensive colored containers will do nothing except lighten your wallet.

I hate beachbody people... One of my overweight friends was spending way too much on beachbody stuff and when she told her coach that she couldn't afford to do it any more he told her, "well then you deserve to be fat."

Have you tried keeping a calorie deficit for a few months?

    Keep it simple.

Hello, I did the 21 Day Fix sans Shakology. It was a great workout and really taught about portion control. I lost 11 inches and 13 pounds in the 21 days and built a lot of stamina.

I have a question about those tuppaware containers... Cant you just buy your own for much cheaper. I guess I'm not understanding why the 21 day fix containers are somehow magic...

That's what I'm doing now; I was able to easily find the measurements of the containers online. Nothing magic about them except that people who use them are happy they don't have to weigh their food and depend on the containers. Even if I had the containers, I'd still be weighing my food so having them is irrelevant for me.

Scott, do 21 Day Fix if you want to. I'm not sure if it's worth the price, no, but I know I'm having results with it. I love the workouts and I'm learning a lot about portions and how much better my body feels when I eat certain kinds of food. I did not buy the program, I do not have the containers since I found the measurements online and weigh my food anyway, and I do not buy into the Shakeology BS. However, I am on Day 15 of the program and I have lost 4 pounds and 5 inches thus far. I also do C25K three days per week and make sure I get my 10,000 steps daily, usually in a 1.5 hour walk in the park with many hills. That said, I do feel that adding 21 Day Fix to my exercise schedule has helped me take it to the next level. It didn't have to be 21 Day Fix, but I was curious and I'm glad I'm doing it.

I know a lot of people on these forums can't stand anything relating to Beachbody, but let's separate the "coaches" and Shakeology drivel from the actual workouts. The workouts from Beachbody work, but not because they're from Beachbody; they work because they're workouts and your body is moving. 21 Day Fix works if you do the workouts and watch your portions, but so will any other exercise program you choose to do. Find workouts you enjoy and focus on CICO, that's all there is to it.

Yes - you can find the container sizes on-line. 1 Cup = fruit & veggie, 3/4 = protein, etc.

Then for 21 Day Fix you get a calorie goal to eat translated into containers: 2 fruit, 3 veggie, etc.......it's really like the old version of Weight Watchers exchanges.

BUT, at least with WW you got many more options for recipes and eating out. WW exchanges were based on more universal portions.....ie: 1 piece of fruit. I'm not impressed with the 21 Day Fix recipes I've seen. You need a spreadsheet to track the 1/2 containers used.

I got a cheap set of the plastic tubs from Amazon. I found the rest of the nutrition info I needed on the web. I have been using it to portion my foods out and have maintained my usual workout schedule and am feeling really good. It's really cleaned my diet up and has encouraged me to ensure I am getting healthy fats on a daily basis. Shakeology is a rip off....a serving of any decent protein powder can be used as a red (protein) portion. I haven't felt hungry at all.

There's also a free phone app you can use to track your containers used throughout the day and it tracks 1/2 containers. I have been using a spreadsheet (with corresponding colours!) to plan my meals out a few days ahead, make a shopping list and make sure I have everything I need to keep me on track. It's actually taken less time to do this than to weigh, measure and log everything every day.

It's seductive. "Look at all these great results, and this is how they did it and it was soooo easy!" I think everyone wants an easy time reaching goal. But, as @julielh72 said, you can find all the info about the containers online and how many of each if you really want to try. But as far as the workouts go, meh. I can't work out at home. I have limited space and my family isn't exactly supportive.

If you need a some motivation via others success, just spend about half an hour in success stories and you'll feel it!

I'm currently doing the 21 Day Fix and on round 2. It's not a "fix" like bang your skinny. It's to help you get a better handle on the food you're eating and portions. For some people, they don't need that. For others, like myself, I needed a guide and a workout routine that I could follow. I also joined a Facebook group to help keep me accountable. I lost 7lbs and 7 inches total in my first round. Round 2 started this week and I still am loving it and not as sore as round 1! Using the containers more so hopefully will see more results. I also drink Shakeology every morning. It's WAY better for me then going to McDonalds every day like I used to plus I love the chocolate! :)

You can get almost any of their workouts and many others on YouTube. Just do that if you like. As far as shakes go, I like Muscle milk pro 50. It's tasty and the calories aren't too high. It gives you 25 gm per scoop for about 150 calories. I do that on days when I need extra protein. As for a diet, just watch your portions, weight and measure, cook at home, avoid stuff that comes out of a can or box unless it's low or no sodium. Follow the "my plate" recommendations: 1/2 your plate non starchy vegetables, 1/4 carbs( such as corn, potato, rice, pasta ) and 1/4 protein. Try to eat 4- half cup servings of vegetables and 2 fruits per day. Hope that helps.

I personally haven't done the 21 day fix myself, but I've seen and read a lot about it, and the phrase 'if it seems too good to be true it probably is' comes to mind. It seems a lot like an 'easy way out' for people who would rather spend money and do things the 'easy' way (nothing wrong with that, as long as you feel you're getting your moneys worth).
I've been using MFP for 80 days now, and I've lost 32lbs, 7 inches off my waist and 5 off my hips. And MFP is completely free.

If its workouts you're interested in, there are tons of free ones on youtube- FitnessBlender is particularly good, it tells you how many calories you've burned and you can select which areas of the body/difficulty you want :)

Before I post this note that I'm not trying to get you to buy Shakeology, everyone has their own opinions and this is just mine.

I also do the Shakeology, yeah the initial cost of $130 sounds like a lot but that's 30 meals! Plus you can get a discount on it. So if you actually break it down it only costs about $4-$5 a meal. So it's actually been saving me money and is WAY better for me then stopping at fast food or Kwik trip on my way to work.

    Beachbody is all overpriced junk.

Use a food scale, weigh everything you consume ,log it here.
Eat at a deficit for weight loss.
Pick any workout program that you like. ( many are online for free if your looking for a beach body type of workout routine . don't waste your money )

I can see how the containers may be a ways of time when you can look up portions online. As far as the 21 day fix, I parsonage prefer the workout, which you can also find online. However, I do like Shakeology due to its nutritional value. It's not meant to be used to be used as a protein shake, it's a multivitamin in shake form. Yes it's expensive, but what else are you spending your hardworking money on that's not as valuable?
