After greatly reducing my sugar and carb intake for 4 days I got on the scale this morning-I gained about 4.5 pounds!!!! I am hoping the gain is from 1. The hiking/walking I did yesterday and 2. The pepperoni I ate yesterday. I also took a three mile walk this morning. I already feel the swelling in my hands.

Ok. Vent over

Pls dont bother looking at my food diary-the entries are what my son consumes (I was trying to see how much he eats)

But are you eating in a deficit? Reduction of carbs & sugar doesn't always = to a caloric deficit.

Just because you reduced your sugar and carbs doesn't mean weight loss, if you are not in a deficit you will not lose weight. More then likely you gained water weight, which come off in a few days.

This. Make sure you are weighing all your food with a food scale so you are sure you are not accidentally overeating!

Use MFP for yourself, not for your son, and you will probably be able to see what is amok.

Reducing your sugar and carb intake won't matter if you aren't eating less calories than you're burning. However, you'd probably know it if you overate by enough calories to gain 4.5 pounds and the things you mention will certainly cause water retention. Give it a day or two and you should see a drop.

He is a VERY picky eater and I was curious if he was eating enough for his age. I normally track ,y own food
