Should I trust my hrm?

Today I walked a hilly trail for a little under an hour. My heart rate was mostly in the 160s and 170s but went as high as 180 on the steeper hills. My hrm says I burned 955 calories, but this seems ridiculously high to me. What do you think?

i trust mine! lol mine always seems to read higher than i expect it to. but since that seems to be the general consensus with hrms, and fitness trainers love em, there must be somethin to em0
