I've been riding almost all my life, but had to stop a few years ago due to cost.

I am missing it badly.

I only rode hunter/jumper. But now I want to do reining, barrels etc.

I rode hunter/jumper for six years as a young girl to gain the balance for barrels and poles.

Saddleseat? That sounds so cool! I love watching that class in a show or exhibition. I can't get over the tails

It was a lot of fun, very dressage focused. I started riding right after Christopher Reeve's accident so my mom didn't want me jumping

Oh wow! I can definitely understand that. My mom was the same way. She wouldn't watch me ride most of the times because I use to ride a lot of green horses that she was scared I'd get hurt. (Which I did.. Lol). But I loved riding then and building a bond.

I did get to ride a lot of the greener school horses and help train them. it was pretty wonderful.
one horse, frank, I was working bareback and no reins. posting more and more sideways I ended up bailing. He walked over to the ladder to wait for me. and when we did serpentines, the instructor said she never saw a horse work so hard ot keep his rider on his back

Before a recent illness/injury, I rode once a week for therapy. It felt heavenly to let the motion of the horse gently stretch/massage my bad back!
