How many dates before you seal the deal...
This could be very hotly debated, but you can only answer when for yourself. It's a very personal question.. I used to have so many one nigth stands when I was younger... And then the last girlfriend I had I was also with physically. Now I have promised myself to wait until I meet the woman I will marry.0 -
Depends on the chemistry for me but I have sealed the deal on the 5th date before and have also waited until the 10th date as well.0

All I know is that I held out longer than any other girl he previously dated while still keeping him interested and he asked me to marry him 4 months later. Last time I ever do that again, lol! We've been together 9 years.0

It varies.. but I've found the times I've waited longer have had better results when it comes to relationship actually lasting for more than those first few dates.0

I've only been with one guy and I'm very very thankful for that. I had been planning on waiting for him to say those three special words but what can I say. We dated for about three weeks and for me it just felt right even though he hadn't said it yet.

It depends, I think we're all at the point in our lives where we dont need to go on a number of dates to do the DUE, you can tell the chemistry when you first meet and talk. Some people who've been married for years started out as "sex on the first date" couples. I think it just depends on the people.0

Funny story. My partner whom I've been with for 3 years and counting, hooked up (drunk, no less) before we dated. Granted, we were in college and living/socializing in the same residence hall. Our relationship is still very strong, stable, and founded in love. In the end, I don't think you can quantify how much time you spend with someone before you realize you want to commit to them. In the same vein, I don't think having some fun behind closed doors first impedes on the potential for a relationship to become something beautiful and pure. Times are a'changing, as are our courtship rituals. :-)0

Well I've only been with one person, I'm 20 now and I've been with him since just before I turned 16. We didn't "do it" lol until I was 17. So I don't know how many dates that was, but I was really careful when it came to that. After a year of him not pressuring me to do anything with him, EVER, I finally decided when the time was right and he said okay. We've been together 4 + years now. I love him 0

I have done it on the second and third date, the longest I ever waited was about 6-7 days(6 weeks?)

I've had 2 serious relationships...the first one i waited several months (was first time too) and we lasted 7 and 1/2 years and had 2 children together......had a few brief relationships after that ended, then with my 2nd serious we hooked up on the first night we met in person (met on net), and we're now happily married 6 years, 3 children together (and he's taken on my eldest 2 as his own).
What I'm saying is, how long you wait should have no effect on the outcome on the relationship if the person is right. Ultimately decide when YOU are ready.

I'm a fan of waiting at least a few weeks to get to know the other person a little. If you can't trust them with your thoughts, dreams, etc, why trust them with your body? Honestly though, that took me a few years of going with what my body/hormones wanted instead of what my mind/heart wanted to figure out.
It is a completely personal decision and you're the one who has to look yourself in the mirror the next day so do what you feel comfortable doing.
Either way, be safe, use birth control and make sure he uses protection!0 -
