How do I get out of my head?!

Hey y'all. So I started MFP 8 weeks ago. I workout 4-5 times a week and eat clean. I log all my food and exercise, I've essentially checked all the boxes but I am only loosing 1lb a week. I feel like I'm busting my rear and getting nowhere fast. I know 8.5lbs lost is better than gained. Some people have said 1lb a week is normal but why do I feel like I should be loosing more?
Any words of advice out there? Thanks for reading my ramble. Just stuck in my head out here in Las Vegas S.O.S - Mary

So at the end of a year you would have lost 50 pounds in a steady, sustainable fashion? What's the complaining about? Who are you even comparing your results to?0

I see some people post that they've lost 20lbs in a month. Makes me feel like I could be doing more. Ultimately I would like to break the 1lb a week bench mark to 2-2.5lbs. Not sure if that's realistic or not. I've never been in to health and fitness until recently so I'm not sure what's the "norm" if there is a norm.0

Because you failed to do enough research into how weight loss works, which has led to unrealistic expectations.
You are impatient.
With your amount of weight to lose you could lose more although 8.5 is great.
You can lose more by increasing your deficit, eating less or burning more. Tighten up your logging.

that's really not realistic or sustainable. with 100 pounds to go, you can probably lose 2 pounds fairly regularly, but the first thing is to get the scale moving at all. once you're heading in the right direction you can make small adjustments from there in your activity or your eating. either way, don't compare yourself to others. or if you do, realize that it goes both ways and this particular forum is full of posts from people that are trying to figure out why they aren't losing at all or why the scale has gone UP.
so stop beating yourself up for being successful0 -
It's normal to want to lose weight more quickly. It sounds like you're on the path to a lifetime of good health. Great Job! Just stick with what you're doing. Try to be patient and all of your hard work will pay off.0
