hi I've been trying to start eating clean healthy foods but I'm finding it very difficult to find healthy foods which I enjoy can anybody suggest any good recipes that I can try?
I've always been a very picky eater and recently my meals tend to consist of either pasta or chicken. I know this isn't the best as it's high in carbs and I feel that I've got myself stuck in a cycle which is hard to break. Any tips on how I can break this cycle. Any type of recipe is helpful as when I use the Internet to find recipes I tend to end up sticking to the same recipes. I hope that by using this app I can be slowly begin to become less picky and more adventurous with foods as this will help me achieve a healthier lifestyle

Not knowing what foods you enjoy, it's kind of difficult to recommend recipes. Have you checked out allrecipes.com? They have a search feature where you can search by ingredient. So if you like chicken, for example, you can search for recipes and find a bunch of options that may fit with your eating style.0

I quite enjoy grilled chicken it's one of the foods I actually do like. I feel like all I ever eat is chicken or pasta which is really bad

Only eating chicken or pasta is bad? Or eating pasta is bad? (It's not--I have a variety of healthy meals including pasta.)
However, your question is really too vague to answer, as there are literally millions and millions of healthy (as in nutrient dense, not overly high in calorie) meals that one can make. Surely you know the building blocks--good ones are lean meats/fish or vegetarian sources of protein, vegetables, and various whole food starches (corn, potatoes, sweet potatoes, whole grains, etc.). Also fruit, dairy, eggs.
I am not that restrictive, but nearly all of my meals are based on this kind of template. They are extremely varied.0 -
@amichellemurray672 you are very young and have many options at this point. I am not young and was running out of options fast so I cut the carbs was a way of life for the past 10 months. Thought I would die the first two weeks but then the carb cravings faded fast.
Young people can burn a lot of carbs unlike I can do any longer by moving and moving a lot. Our kids are 18 and eat a ton of carbs so I know. If they stop moving they can gain a lot of weight eating a ton of carbs too.
Best wishes. I do wish more young people had your wisdom concerning food solutions.0 -
I enjoyed Tosca Reno's books: Eat Clean Diet, and Eat Clean Diet Cookbook. She has more, and there are lots of recipes, many are low in carbs compared to the typical diet.

Neither chicken nor pasta are bad, although if this all you eat, obviously this will be a problem.
What do you like to eat? It is impossible for people to just suggest meals for a complete stranger without more information.0 -
Eating and consuming daily diet high in sugar and fatty foods directly leads to obesity, and ultimately developing chronic health disorders and hypertension and diabetes.
Opt for regular meals and look out for ideas for quick healthy meals; skipping meals make a person to experience ravenous hunger. When hunger is raging, a person may be more tempted to indulge in high-fat snacks and junk food.
Lower the amount but do not eliminate certain foods. Everyone has foods they eat for pleasure, but if these foods are completely eliminated from the diet, a person may feel deprived. Nothing ruins a diet faster than a person feeling a sense of deprivation, which can result in them seeking out rich, high-calorie, sugary snacks that are unhealthy.0 -
"Clean" and "healthy" mean different things to everyone you ask.
If you're picky, only you will know what will please you.
To lose weight, it only matters that you eat at a calorie deficit. If that's just chicken and pasta, that's OK, so long as it's not too much of them.
Check out the MFP Recipes sub-forum for ideas, or else Google is your friend.0 -
