PMS and the scale

Ladies on average how much does your weight fluctuate before, during, and after your cycle? I've been on my new fitness/health journey for almost 3 weeks and this is my 1st cycle. I'm due to weigh in today, but I refuse because I don't want to be disappointed. My food and exercise has been consistent so any gains I'm assuming would be water weight and sodium retention. Your thoughts?

You would be correct in your assumption that you may gain some water weight.
These posts happen all the time, and all across the board the gains vary wildly from 1lb to 5lbs for some, and others don't gain at all.
Just wait until after your TOM to weigh yourself, so you don't stress yourself out unnecessarily.0 -
I'm actually due for next week and am a little flabbergasted that my scale showed a drop. I only logged half of that loss, because I'm a little distrustful. We'll see the truth at the end of next week, lmao.0

Lately it's only been fluctuating about 1-2 lbs over. I ignore it.0

Well I'm hoping for a loss of 1- 1 1/2 pounds on my weigh in next Friday which is why I'm not gonna step on while Aunt Flo is in town. She should be gone by Monday which gives my body a few days to adjust. I just want to be in onederland finally. I've been pretty good with my diet and exercise, but I think I could kick up the exercise to add an extra 30 minutes on 1-2 days.0

I can gain up to 5 lbs before and during TOM. Which is why I will not weigh myself starting at 10 days before TOM (when my PMS attitude starts), and the 4-5 days of TOM. Once TOM is gone, maybe a day or 2 later, I'll weigh myself.0

Don't refuse. Get used to seeing scale fluctuations and taking them for what they are. Even when you stop having periods, there will always be scale fluctuations. That's going to happen for life.
It's best to just get used to it, IMO.0 -
I've found that by lowering my salt intake and increasing my water intake my fluctuations have gone from upwards of a 7 pound gain to only 1 or 2 pounds during my tom. I didn't make these changes just for my period week but as an overall boost to my diet and health. Happy side effect maybe.0
