Avocados and Guacamole

So, I noticed a lot of meal plans include avocados or guacamole and I have asked around before and never really got a clear answer about it. Since I am allergic to avocados, would anyone have any suggestions on what food or combination of foods would help get at least most of the benefits and nutrition that I would normally get from avocados?

Avocados contain mono saturated fat. Other foods with fat include peanut butter and other nut butters, hummus, other bean dips, tahini, and other nuts and seeds.

Bananas are closest in potassium and fiber content, along with some vitamins. Not the fats, though. Olive oil will give you your monos. Some people use that.

What in the avocado are you allergic to? (As in, what specific ingredient causes inflammation?). Maybe you can still have avocado oil?

Thank you, I thought I would not get an answer. I have no problem incorporating more of those items RodaRose. :)
RockstarWilson- I'm honestly not sure. Avocado oil may be an option for me, my brother made a meal for us once and it included avocado in the sauce he made and I had no allergic reaction to that. I need to explore some more. Do you know if heating the avocado changes anything? Thank you, I will keep this post updated. :)

Because you have an allergy to avocados, you should stay away from the fruit and the oil -- cooked or not -- or be prepared by keeping Benedryl on hand. Allergies tend to get worse more often than they get better.
You can have a perfect plan to lose weight without having any avocados. They are not special for weight loss and you have so many other options. :) You hear about avocados on the threads when people are talking about finding more ways to get oil into their day or how to eat more nutrient dense (high calorie) food. I do not eat avocados but I do have coconut oil a few times a week because I too pay attention to oil. I like walnut oil as much as I like coconut oil.

I know! I hear about avocados often and I get a little bummed out seeing so many recipes and items that include them. But I was successful before a few incidents in a row that knocked me pretty off track. But I'm back and ready to kick butt and watch what I eat. :) I have coconut oil, yay I have something I can use! Lol. I have not found walnut oil any where so far..would that be in the specialty stores? I would like to try it out.
