Protein Powder...Raw Green Powder...Should I take them?

Yo,

I am starting to do some weight training. I see a lot about protein powders, and raw green powders. How do you all feel about them? Supplements. I hear people say you have to add the protein this way, because through regular dieting you won't get enough. I feel like some natural foods can provide protein as well. There are a whole bunch. Maybe I should up my protein intake from natural foods. I'm sure everyone's experience will be different based on how your body is set up. If I am trying to burn fat, AND build muscle. Is having a protein shake/drink either before, during, or after a good start? I've also read that you want to do weight training before cardio so you're not initially losing muscle mass...I am somewhat confused lol. Any advise is truly appreciated.
Eeek! :o

It's going to be much cheaper to eat a variety of meats than to buy powders,
and will likely taste better as well.

To burn fat, eat at a deficit & do cardio at least several times a week.
To build muscle, eat at a slight surplus, with your protein macro on the high side of healthy, and lift weights
    several times a week.
You might have noticed that those 2 goals probably can't be achieved at the same time.
    Also see bodyrecomposition.com

Doing weights before cardio is likely so you're fresh, less likely to hurt yourself, can move more weight.
But if you want to run to the gym, do weights, then run home, have at it. No reason not to.

    According to this calculator

as I've lost over 80 lb of fat, I've also gained several lb of muscle.

I suppose it's possible, since I hadn't done weightlifting for a long time, but likely it's measurement error
and all that's really happened is I've maintained lean body mass.
    I'm cool with that.

@MKEgal Awesome! Thank you for the info. I was really trying to figure out how it all adds up. I am trying to add weight training in the beginning of this weight loss journey. Not towards the end. I heard that adding weight training in the beginning may help alleviate loose skin etc. Building muscle is truly an interest of mind. I want to make sure I'm doing it the right way. Let me ask you this, should I separate my cardio days from my weight lifting days then? Like are the days I do my cardio do as you said and eat at a deficit, and on weight training days the opposite? Love the profile pic too. lol. Thank you again.

Here's a table for the macros, from the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
    http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/88/1/1/T1.expansion.html

carbs, 45 - 65% of calories (4 cal per gram)
fat, 20 - 35% of calories (9 cal per gram)
protein, 10 - 35% of calories (4 cal per gram)
