I think for starting out and no one has to do this one but maybe we should definately start out with a water one. That one is so easy to fix but yet so many of us dont do it. Maybe 10 glasses a day.

  • ok but it sounds easier than it will be I do not drink all my water so this will be a challenge for me

Sounds like a great challenge..........LETS GO BLUE!!!

    :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:
  • I'm up for that, but I'll just go for the 8 glasses. Is a glass of water the same as 9 fluid ounces (bottle water)?

I think we should post exercise challenges that have an easy and hard challenge for those that need to take it easy or want to push it hard. I think next week we should go old school and go back to basics like jumping jacks, push ups, crunches, lunges&squats to start with on wed lets do 10 then everyday after to make it harder is add 10 more. And RachVR6 told me about these jumping lunges. Start with a lung left/right foot forward then jump and switch real quick with the opposite foot it's soooooo hard I did 10 and I was out of breath. What do you all think? For the easier going people they can just stick with the 10 a day. Sound good everyone? Just a thought.

That sounds like a great idea! I am up for the challenge of getting back to basics. People that want to push it start out with 10 and add more each and every day after that. For those that are just starting out do 10 every day.

    Lets do this blue team!!

I also saw on the other thread that someone mentioned jump roping. That might me good for some (if you have a jump rope).

    Keep the ideas coming here!

Oh ya my kids got jump ropes for Christmas that would be great to add to our back to basic's. Good good good!
  • I think a good challenge would be to team up with someone else on the team, and do partner challenges. We would then have to post the exercise calories burned for the week. The team the burns the most exercise calories wins?? It's just an idea, but I think we should get something started!!

Another idea would be to think of the most creative indoor/outdoor activities.

A personal challenge could be to post our favourite exercises. Each person would have to complete say, 7 of these exercises a week. It would be a good way of learning new things?

I need a new jump rope, mine is way to long for me - do they have shorter speed ropes? I am 5' 2" and this one isn't working. Maybe it's me

I am 5' so I totally understand the jump ropes being too long. I will normally wrap it around my hand a few times to shorten it up. Some people find it uncomfortable but give it a try.

Well I went to step interval class this morning. I think she was trying to kill us LOL. I can finally do a side plank with my hand in the air the correct way. YEA ME. I also have already gotten in 2 bottles of water at 20 oz each so that is 5 cups of water today so far. Will do some of those back to basics exercise after daughter goes down for nap. I hate jumping jacks though. Darn boobs get in the way.

Oh and if we are counting calories burned I burned 550 so far today. Tonight I have cub scouts and then my son has basketball practice and it is at the rec center where I work out so maybe I will do some more. Zumba is tonight but I would miss the first 15 minutes of it though.

I did 25 mins on the treadmill last night and drank 16oz of water during. The bike was being used and didn't want to wait around the gym all night so I did 45 crunches on the ab machine and headed home. I'll do better tonight. :ohwell:

I've been getting all my water in also - but I may have been cheating. Does water with those crystal light powder packs count?? I do drink water plain but like those flavor packs

I drank 64 oz of water yesterday - over the past few weeks I haven't been able to pass 48 so I am happy. Hope to be able to exercise later today.

    Happy Tuesday!!

40 Ozs of water drank already today. Did my bellies, booties and biceps class and I burned 375 calories while doing it. Then I just got done doing my back to basics ones. I did 20 jumping jacks, 10 lunges each leg, 20 squats, 20 front kicks, 50 hamstrings, 20 legs to the back and 10 jumping lunges ( 5 each leg). Those ones are hard. I didnt do any pushups because I actually did 25 at class today. I finally did a new plank today. You start out in plank postition and you walk your hands up to pushup position and then take one hand up towards the ceiling then bring it back down and then take the other hand to the ceiling ( all while in pushup plank position) and then bring it back down and walk your hands back to down plank position on your arms. I did 4 of them. I was so proud of myself.

I guess we're all hiding SLow start to my water - but 16 oz down.

I don't count it as water if it's got anything added but I know many who do - if that's the only way to get it in you than - by all means go for it!! That's how my husband drinks his water.

I've been over in the week 1 thread, but thought I'd pop in here to say I have 16oz so far. Not much but it's better than I used to be.
