Heart rate monitor

looking for a wrist watch style heart rate monitor that shows reading on the actual device. Does anyone have one they recommend? Thank you

Polar FT4.
It's not particularly hard to find any if you use this thing called google...-1 -
There are a few watches out there that show the HR reading on the watch, but generally you need to wear a chest strap too. The Polar FT watches are what I use, there is also the FitBit Charge HR, you don't need a chest strap for that.0

Thank you, was looking at the polar fit vs the Fitbit charge, the 2nd of which I've heard good things. I appreciate your feed back0

I use the Polar M400 and you have to wear a chest strap. I have a friend that went to the fitbit charge and she said she didn't think it was as accurate.0

You mean the Fitbit Charge HR—the Charge is not a heart rate monitor. I love mine—when you connect your accounts & enable negative calorie adjustments, MFP adjusts your daily calorie goal to TDEE minus deficit. And Fitbit challenges are great motivation.

The only way to gauge the accuracy is to enable negative calorie adjustments, trust your Fitbit for several weeks, then reevaluate your progress. I lost the weight with a Fitbit Flex (which doesn't even have a HRM), and am maintaining with a Charge HR.
But you still have to log everything you eat & drink accurately & honestly. And I never log exercise in MFP—only Fitbit.0 -
I have a Fitbit charge HR. It is inacurate in the HRM dept. Sometimes its spot on, other times its off by like 20bpm. I did a mountain bike ride this weekend and used my Charge HR to log the ride. It has a feature that lets you log an exercise by turning on and off when you start and finish your exercise. I also have a Polar chest strap HRM(forgot the model) that pairs bluetooth with my iphone. I used them both on my 1hr 40min bike ride and i got two different numbers. the Polar HRM said i burned 853 or somewhere close to that and the fitbit Charge HR said i burned 630something calories. Numerous times i wear both and check them simultaneously i get inacurate HR reading from the Charge HR.0
