I has a wellness event at work and when I saw my weight it was a wake up call, I have never been this big in my life. I am embarrassed all the time and feel like the fat girl in the room wherever I go. Time to change!

Use it as fuel!!! I signed up for the biometric clinic at work for next month, and am nervous as hell (especially as they take the measurements in a room with like 6-7 other people! I don't want to hear my body fat percentage, nevermind a bunch of my coworkers hearing it!!) but I'm choosing this for motivation. It's going to be amazing comparing against the same testing next year.

Congratulations for loving yourself and your body and going to a wellness event! More importantly, you learned some information about yourself and are using it to help your body become healthier. That is fantastic! Welcome and good luck! The time for change is now :)

Instead of letting those unpleasant feelings ruin your day, you're getting to their roots and using them to make healthier choices for yourself. Good for you and best of luck.

I can relate to feeling embarrassed about your weight and being the biggest you have ever been.Everybody has to start somewhere, and your somewhere is here.
From personal experience (and the experience of hundreds of other people using MFP) if you are ready to use this tool to help you keep track of the calories you are consuming, then it won't take long to start to feel great.

I can relate to that for sure. I've always been heavier, but my weight had been slowly creeping up. I'd be like well as long as I'm under 160, I'm good. Then it's like weeeeell it's only 170. Crap I've got to keep this under 180. I was at work a couple of months ago and I weighed myself on the scale there and I was sitting at 207. I felt disgusted and ashamed and just overall awful. So I dusted off mfp again and came back here, determined to lose the weight. I finally got a scale in my apartment so I can keep track of my weight at home and I'm down to 189.9. I'm ecstatic.

Many people have that 'defining moment' that kicks starts our fitness goals. For me, it was going to the doctor for a routine check up, stepping on the scales and being told my the Dr that I'd put on 'A LOT of weight'. It was horrible, I was mortified and I burst in to tears. I stayed in bed for around 2 days and then - after feeling sorry myself - decided to get my act together and start this journey.

You are not the fat girl in the room. You're weight does NOT define you. But congratulations on wanting a healthy, happy life. I wish you all the luck.
