What kind of job do you have? When I worked in a restaurant I had a hard time too. It takes a lot of discipline to not eat the food when it is in front of you and in your hands all day.

Yes! I manage a convenience store. The whole place screams unhealthy!! And it yells at me daily, Fresh donuts and pizza!! ;)

Yeah that's tough. Not only are you surrounded by food but you have a job where you have to pretty much stand there staring at it all day. Try keeping some healthy snacks with you. Just pre-weigh out a generous portion in the morning and weigh what is left if any at the end of the day to figure out what you have eaten. Things like pickles, carrot sticks, raw veggies and some fruits can give you lots of bulk for few calories. Add in a thinly sliced ounce of good cheese or a portion of almonds for the satiation factor. Having healthy choices should help you ignore that pizza.

Also since you are the manager do you have some power to add some healthier snacks to the store's offerings? The general public does often appreciate having fresh fruit and veggie cups as an option when they have to make a quick gas and snack stop.

Prepare several days worth at a time so you can just grab something and go. I usually prepare extra when I cook dinner a couple of times a week so I have lunches ready to go for a few days. I also pre-portion fruit and snacks so it is easy to throw together a work lunch as I get ready to go in the morning. Just grab a leftovers portion, a fruit and a snack. I pre-log those the night before so I don't have to do anything on MFP until the afternoon when I get home.

Thing is, at some point effort on your part is involved if you really want success with this. Instead of focusing on what doesn't work start looking for what does. And do that.

I'd add if you do fall off the wagon don't write off the entire day. My workplace has free snack food within 100m of every location you can go to - both healthy (kale chips, fruit) and unhealthy (potato chips, sodas, cheesecake, chocolate) and I find that if I cave and have one thing (say a scoop of cashews) that can quickly lead me to write off the whole day and have a ton of snacks. Stressful days are the worst, so hard to face the stress and not grab some chips on the way past the drink fridge...

So when I do cave, I log the item - it usually fits within my remaining budget for the day - and remind myself that one slip is not the end of the world. However 5 or 10 slips is really hard to recover from ... I can undo a whole week's effort in one evening.
