If the package of raw meat says 4 oz is 130 calories is that before or after cooking? i was not sure so if i measured it cooked, i do a 3 oz portion as a serving for 130 calories. if i measure it raw i do 4 oz a serving for 130 calories!!

    that is before cooking.
So you weigh it raw and log 130 calories for 4oz.

Just curious...why do we weigh raw....I've been putting in amounts I'm hoping is cooked cause that's when I tend to weigh it

the label almost always is for raw meat! .

now, I do cook for a lot of people or my wonderful mother do my meal/dinner for me very often, I just with time and a little research have found entry very accurate for cooked food, it works too.

if you weigh something raw than measure the same thing again cooked it weighs less food shrink when you cook it so 4oz cooked is actually way more if you were to weigh it raw.
